Trying to keep the bill low

Hey people- I've constructed a 2'x2'x4' grow box in my closet. I'd really like to avoid the cost of buying and paying energy bills for an hps or mh, what's my alternative? How many cfls will i need for that space.

Have you considered 200/300 watt CFL?
That and mylar on walls should give you good light.......BB

Aside CFL's, i'de recommend T5 fluorescent lights. Instead of mylar you may use white paint, whatever works best for your situation. Also keep in mind color temperature (kelvin). 3000k and lower for flowering, 5000k and more for veg. I'm running a somewhat neutral 3500k for veg and flower in my garbage can grow, after they show their true leaves their going straight to flower.

garbage can grow ,that's cool. we used large ones for feed ,the tops lock tight.

look at 250 watt CMH for you grow area it will be perfect and does both veg & flower (you only need one light) It does not get as hot as hps/mh and will only use the same power as an average lcd monitor

IMHO... You get back what you initially put into it. But, I understand where your coming from. Good luck

Thanks! I think I'll go for the 200 watt cfl, i really can't go bigger.
