The lungs are known to have biochemical machinery to process tryptamine into N,N-DMT and other methylated tryptamines. This is theorized to be one of if not the main source of endogenous DMT. This got me thinking. What if one were to dissolve tryptamine in an aqueous solution and inhale it as a mist? Might one experience the effects of DMT (albeit administered over a longer timescale, due to the fact that conversion likely would occur over several minutes)?
