TSanford's 3rd MediGrow - Aeroponics / 1200 watt / Custom Grow Box / Multiple Strains

Hello everyone at RIU. This will be my first full grow log here. This is my 3rd grow, but its my first hydro and SCROG grow. I will be cloning and vegging under florescents using aeroponics in Rubbermaid's and ill be flowering in a custom made box / cab. This will not be a perpetual grow, but I will have clones vegging so there is an endless flower cycle.

For cloning and vegging I made an aeroponics system that sprays the roots while they are suspended in the air. Its setup in Tupperware containers with 33 sites on top. Each site is a 2" hole with a net pot and neoprene insert.

The vegging box will be the same, but in a 2 tub system that is larger. It has less grow sites so vegging clones and mothers have extra space.

The system for flowering will be my modified stinkbuddies Aero / NFT system. Mine is constructed longer / wider and more sites. I plan on doing a screen of green as well for the first time.

The box that will be flowering the girls is a 4x6 box made from 2x2's and 1/2" osb plywood. It stands in at 8 feet tall and is setup in an empty room with central air. The box is cornered in the wall so the left and back are not accessible. I did leave a 3 to 6 inch gap on all sides for airflow. The box will eventually have two 600 Watt hps in air cooled hoods, large carbon filter, and a 465 cfm fan on a controller to circulate the air.

Currently I am waiting to finish the flower box as I am still waiting for clones and seeds to arrive. I also need to figure out the ventilation system. As in where to cut my 6" vent hole for the flange and fan. Also I haven't figured out which size and how many passive intakes to have as well as the placement for them all.

The strains I will be playing with include (as of now, but will be added to):
Grand daddy purple
Blue dream
Chem dawg
Cheisil
Super lemon haze
Ak47
Jack Herer x Skunk #1
Blackwater OG kush
Sour diesel

This log may be a long one as it will take a while to cycle the strains.

So yesterday I setup the vegging and cloning area. Its basically a 2.5 x 5 x 5 area that I sectioned off with wood and poly plastic. I ended up getting two 2 bulb T8 fixtures with matching bulbs. Each bulb is 6500k and produces 2750 lumens, which means all together its 11,000 lumens.


I setup my DIY Turbo cloner with about 7 gallons of water and 1.5 tsp of rapid rooter. Then my bro came by with some of his clones. I was given the following clones
- chem dawg
- Jack herer x skunk #1
- blackwater OG aka Larry OG
- sour diesel


Later today I plan on adding Velcro to the plastic front. Adding two exhaust computer fans, and getting a mini fan in there to circulate. Also I need to create a pulley system to easily adjust the lights.

Tonight I got the fan into the veg area, finished the light pulley, and I put a bunch of seeds into the cloner.

I put 3 or 4 seeds of each of the following strains, just to ensure females.

- XYZ (P91X x ?)
- purple kush
- chocolate Thai x bubblegum
- grape ape
- fire purps

So I checked on the beans that I put into the cloner and almost all of them had sprouted.

We have 1 grape ape
3 purple kush
And 2 chocolate Thai


I put 2 of the purple kush seeds into their own neoprene netpots, and ill do the rest tomorrow once their tap root gets a bit longer.

Just wanted to post a quick update to show where we are at. I had a great 4/20; picked up a quarter of some dank vortex and smoked many 1g blunts with my lady.


Taking a look at the clones my buddy gave me. So far only the J1 and the Sour Diesel have had roots shoot off like crazy. The rest have rooting, but not as fierce, just little nubs. Attached is a well rooted J1 clone.

As of yesterday each of the seeds have been given their own netpots. Every seed has grown a taproot that is 2+ inches. But only 1 has began to sprout and that is a grape ape.


I put another clone order in. On Friday I will have a white widow, skywalker OG, master kush, platinum Bubba kush. I may also be picking up a blue dream mother from seed. More info on this to come.


As I said earlier I ordered a Ph meter and TDS meter from Amazon which will be here Wednesday. I also ordered a nice 50GPD RO system which will be here this upcoming Friday. I personally can't wait because not only will my girls benefit, but my whole family will get to enjoy RO water
