Turtle manure?

My roommate has been storing a turtle in our laundry room (for what reason? I don't know.) I came across the bucket today, and it stank to high heaven, but seemed pretty rich. My inner curiosity wants to put that shit on my plants... Does anyone know the value of turtle shit? I know they carry a lot of bacteria, but not sure if that'd be a good or bad thing. I've tried to search out some answers, but they were vague. Can anyone help a brother out.

Caution ....I wouldn't, but you can always try a tea, soak the poo in water for a week and spray on your plants at about 20:1 of fresh water, just avoid the buds ...lol or for that extra taste ...lol

Uhhhh ... big NO.

Turtle poop carries some nasty pathogens. Do a search on this forum, there was a lengthy thread on this a few years back. Like, if you want just what the nasty stuff was.

But no, don't use it and I would be careful handling the bucket.

No matter what that turtle shit must be composted before you even think of using it. I'm not gonna say it cannot be done just that there are much better choices. Then again turtles are vegetarians- maybe their poop would be good fertilizer but it must be broken down into humus before plants can use it. If it's killing you to try it I'd suggest digging a compost hole outside & compost the turd-les for a few months along with some leaves & other organic what nots.

Thanks guys... The only thing I've came across about it, is about using old aquarium water as a tea. The bucket is about a quarter full of water, so its somewhat diluted. I was thinking about diluting at 1\4 strength, then sampling them on my lantanas... I don't know if it'll be a good test because they were just transplanted into rich soil, but at least I'll know if it'll kill a plant. What do ya think?

My plants are 3 weeks into veg from seed, so no buds, and should have time to recover from a overdose of turtle shit

Google turtleponics. People use turtles for aquaponics. I tried it with aflood tray and cilantro once. It didnt kill the plants but i wasnt ph testing or anything so they did not do well.

Felt bad for the guy (or girl. She laid six eggs that were at the bottom of the bucket) so I came up with this for now

Well I read that turtle aquariums usually have a higher ph, and you want it to be that way to keep bacteria down, but I figured I would just dip a large cup in then dilute it in a gallon of water and try it out on my other plants for a while. See how something that grows similar handles it

much of the answer is predicated on what you feed the turtle.
Everything I've read or been warned about with turtles is that they can have bad bacterial stuff in there, especially if you feed the turtle meat, which depending n the turtle, may be required.
For example, chicken parts are often fed, those could get you extremely ill, possibly even kill you.
Unless a 14 day bout of stomach cramps, diarrhea, vomiting and lightheadedness sounds fun to you.
If you need to lose some weight, it's a fantastic "diet" to lose like 15 lbs....
That was me joking...
