Two 8' x 8' x 8' tent with three 400w HPS lights..approx how much can i yield?

I renting an apartment with a friend, we are just going to sleep in the living room and set up the tents in the two rooms.

Like the title says we have

2pcs - 8' x 8' x 8' tents

3pcs - 400 watt HPS in each tent.

My question is to the veterens, how much plants can i fit? Should i maximize it with a bunch of medium ones or would the yield be higher if i had less plants but gave them more room to grow?

How much do you think i can yield each cycle?

Help is greatly appreciated, will take pictures once its set up!:-P

Depends on what strains you 're gonna grow and how long you're gonna veg as well as your experience. I'm gonna sub this thread and wait until I see your set up and what strains you're gonna grow

Not much with only 3 400s in each one. That's only 18w per sq feet. And 400 have the least amount of light penetration. How are you mount the lights.? Kinda awkward in a 8x8. If you had 4 400s I could see it working but i would try to find 4 600s then you will have a very good yield.

If you already bought 6 400watters you're probably better off cramming them all in one tent, you'll get a hell of a lot better w/sqft and you'll have better light penetration. If you didn't buy them yet, dont. Get 4 600s each or 2 1000s each tent your yields will be easily double. I'm assuming you're not using CO2, and really don't seem to know what you're doing much since the only things you've listed are lights and a tent... I'd say your yield will be very, very low for the first few grows.

hmm... i see that most people are telling me the lights are a main concern.

My goal was 10 pounds with the two tents combined. The reason why we chose 3 - 400 watt per tent was because we wanted to keep the electric bill under $150 /month with an average of 7.7 cents/kilowatt.

My roommate is a lot more of the technical guy. I am just helping arrange everything :p. and my roommate kept on telling me to buy Co2 burners but im not willing to until after the first yield.

You'd have to get 1.9 grams per watt in order to pull 10 pounds with 6 400 watt lamps. Physically impossible without CO2 supplementation, MAD amounts of growing skill, huge use of LST like CCoG, air pruning, ect ect. You'll be lucky to pull 4-4.5 pounds in ideal circumstances with the lighting you're using without CO2.

if you have very high skills in building and design, you'll get some big yield close to 10lbs with 4 600's if you go vertical and get a great strain but you need to do it perfect and requires time to get healthy mother plants from which you can clone. CO2 burners will require A/C in summers will add to your electric. it's not right to start running CO2 before you have EVERYTHING dialed perfect, it's a big investment, you need to seal the room and have a co2 monitor and controller, i don't recommend you do this. if you're interested in vertical with 600's look into heath's vertical grow theres a link.

Stadiums aren't exactly noob friendly, but if you guys can pull it off you'll probably double your yields if not more if you place your lights correctly.
