Tyramine and DMT

So I was doing some research on proper DMT dosing (diet and whatnot) and found that Tyramine should be avoided when embarking on an ayahuasca voyage. Now my question is: When smoking freebase n,n does one need to avoid Tyramine just as with ayahuasca? Or since Tyramine is a MAO, and when smoking pure freebase there is no MAOI involved, should one be careful about Tyramine?

Personally, (Sidenote: I go onto a boat the Pacific ocean and smoke DMT where it is not against any federal regulations ;-)) I will be consuming DMT infused into Pau D'arco bark. Just wanted to make sure my body was in top condition to take my voyages.

Where you at, ANC?

I don't have the great knowledge some have on this forum. So I may be wrong but everything I have read have not said anything about freebase and tyramine causing problems. Hope that helps friend. Enjoy your adventure it will be a great one I'm sure.

Yes, when smoking there are generally no MAOI's involved, so I wouldn't worry about it. I might be a little more cautious if I were to smoke changa, but that probably wouldn't cause any problems either.

This was my thought as well.

When I originally tried DMT, I was given what was supposedly 'Changa' but in reality it didn't have any MAOI's and was the same mixture I make today (1:1 - Pau:Freebase). I was posting over at the Nexus and someone promptly corrected me in that a mixture of Pau D'Arco and freebase was, in fact, not changa, but rather, 'infused leaf' as the Pau was merely acting as a carrier for the freebase. Correct me if I'm wrong, though...

I haven't looked into Pau, but I'm sure they're correct. They seem to know quite a bit on the subject over there.

Pau is the shit! Improves taste one-hundred-fold. Some friends of mine think it makes it taste like Salvia, I'm not of that mindset personally. My girl and I think it tastes more like tea than salvia. Either way, it is the best taste I have encountered when it comes to vaping/smoking our favorite friend.

Nice. I'll have to check it out. See how I like it. I was just going to try caapi. There's so many different herbs to compliment, it almost seems like too much work. I guess the key is to just take it one at a time.
