So this has happened and its on the parliament website . There's been over 100,000 petitions and it has to be brought up. It finally looks like we are looking at the success America has had with the Medical benefits. I will be putting Key Quotes and discussions in the first page so people can be updated .

Parliament will consider this for a debate
Parliament considers all petitions that get more than 100,000 signatures for a debate

Waiting 1 day for a debate date.

What do you think about it?

Half-step in the right direction, although the 100,000 signature petition only means the topic can be brought up for debate in the Houses of Parliament. That it will is another matter entirely.

Decriminalizing cannabis is still a deeply unpopular move for most politicians, unfortunately.

It's definitely a start. I wouldn't expect anything to happen in the near future, and when it does it'll be scheduled to coincide with a major event/occasion to ensure it gets sidelined and forgotten about. But it's still a start.

Now I know the results are skewed as probably the huge majority of the readership of that article are pro cannabis, but here's how the website's poll was looking a minute ago...

What is all this "Skunk" nonsense in the UK?
People seem to think there is some sort of super cannabis that makes you addicted then go insane.

Skunk' is a term often used interchangeably with cannabis, but skunk cannabis is a much more potent form of the drug. It has around two to three more times of the main active ingredient - tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC.

Withdrawal from cannabis is similar to withdrawal from tobacco use, and many users switch to tobacco to help them get off the drug.

The risk of psychosis is three times higher for users of potent "skunk-like" cannabis than for non-users.
wtf is that bullshit?

Skunk is a dumb term as used in the UK. There has always been strong cannabis.
Cannabis and "Skunk" (rolls eyes) do not cause psychosis, period.
Skunk is not physically addictive and less addictive than coffee, period.

And this is why Cannabis is illegal. Stupid Information out there like that. There has been a massive story that has been going round all the new rounds that Police are not targeting Growers on a small scale and the likely hood of you getting arrested is only if it has been reported by someone else. Now i can see 1 or 2 things happening here.

1) People get jealous of people having 1/2 grows for personal use, Reports them And they get a slap on the wrist ( Anti Weedist then say I TOLD YOU SO)
2) Police save money inform the government that Drug crimes have falling for the first time in XXX time. It then gets braught up in debate and Britain finally realise how much money they can make by tax and VAT (Different rates of VAT apply to different goods and services. There are currently three rates - the standard 20% (increased from 17.5% on 4 January 2011), a reduced rate charged at 5% and zero rate.)

hopefully
in the next 4/5 year we can see it in use Recreational or Medical .
