Anyone know if I should just let my plants grow free or do ol uncle bens topping technique??? I can allow up to 6' plants if that should be a deciding factor?? I just want as big a yield as possible(as we all do)!!!! Thank you for your help.....

Hey guys this is my first time posting so please be gentle with me haha.
I live in Ontario Canada and I have found I get the largest yield when I start my seedlings indoor and top them when they have 4 or 5 nodes developed. So when they go out you already have the new meristems established and I find they just take off, it could be different for growers in a shorter season like Canada but you Cali guys/ southern states dont seems to have those problems. With that said I have had success topping outside but they dont seem to yield as much as the ones topped indoors.

What's your light schedule inside? I plan on starting them inside also but I'm afraid when I put them outside they will start to flower. I was just going to have my lights schedule follow the daylight hours where I live just to be on the safe side!!!

For the first week of seedling growth I keep them at 24 hrs then I will switch to 18/6 for the rest of the veg, and ya I would go with your plan to follow the daylight hours just to avoid any unnecessary shock . I personally haven't had any issues going from a 18/6 to outdoors , my plants seem to start flower around July depending on the strain some sativas that I wont grow again haven't started until august.
