Hey folks thought I would thread a bit about my ways in the woods.

Well I am an Alaskan; I live in the Bush and love life here. This is Gods country and it produces some of the worlds finest.

We have wild lands of untouched wilderness in every direction you look. There are snow capped mountains that surround us all year. We have year round fishing for world class trophies and world record setting class of all our game species. I truly live in an outdoorsman’s paradise.

Aside from all the wonders that keep a person blissfully happy in a place like this, we have a unique global location that allows for an unbelievable growing seasons. An Alaskan summer (in our area) typically produces long sunny days of warm to hot, humid conditions that make for jungle like growth patterns. They call it the land of the midnight sun! We get ALOT of daylight during the summer.

On another note, Alaskans have the right to personal use of Marijuana within the home. We also have a medical marijuana registry and the ability to grow our own cannabis under those regulations.

I happen to be a person of disability and benefit from the use of medical marijuana. Here I intend to share with you how I make my medicine out here in the bush. I will be sharing projects that I have taken on and photos of interest pertaining to cannabis and the roll it plays in my life here. I’m hoping I can entertain some of you, learn from others, and teach a thing or two to those who didn’t already know.

As I listed in the thread title, the current strains are Arjan's Ultra Haze #2 (two separate phenos), White Rhino from GH (M/F?), Matanuska Thunderous Underground, and a strain brought back from the "Dirty South" that had continuously grown outdoors “wild” for 8 years called CAROLINA.

I will be showing these as indoor projects as well as outdoor. I hope you all enjoy!

Meet the Plants:

First is the Arjan's Ultra Haze #2.

The following are photos taken as early as I began to track growth for a journal. They were about (two - three) weeks old.

Two Separate Pheno Type's

Pheno A: Red Pheno
Pheno B: Blue Pheno
Note: These are traits that are visible to the eye; I know nothing more about these variations. If there is someone that could share knowledge about these it would be appreciated.

These Set of Photos are of a particularly "dear to the heart" strain called: Matanuska Thunderous Underground. This strain was created by a breeder friend of mine who passed away two years ago. This strain was a cross of Matanuska Thunderfuk (original 1972) Super Silver Haze, and an unknown strain that produces a rare "Fuzzy" pheno that makes the whole plant look uniform in color.

I will post a photo of a plant similar to the pheno described. (Not my photo or plant, this was found via Google "sorry I don’t know who to give credit too)

This set of photos is of another peculiar strain called CAROLINA.

The story behind this strain is one of legend. This was a strain that was planted in a bucket garden in the middle of a pine tree forest by the "old timers". The said strain took over the localized area and became known as "wild Carolina" to the folks who knew of it. It was harvested for years until slowly the folks who kept this sacred place a secret moved on, passed away, or forgot about the location and how to get there.
Eight years past since the last time I had seen the area, and a group of friends and I tracked down the old garden site and harvested some seeds from the still existing infamous Wild CAROLINA.

Needless to say, the seeds were abundant; I was able to collect enough to insure success with females.

I germinated 5 seeds, chose the best female of the group and discarded the rest. I have cloned from this "Mother" several times for other medical marijuana patients, and have finally set this plant under a 24" X 24" SCROG to allow it to finish. If this first indoor attempt proves to be a keeper, I will use a clone from this plant to reproduce a new Mother. Otherwise we will move on....

This is She!

Now I will be getting into a bit about my grow room set up as of late.

As the title of this thread implies, this grow room set up is under a cabin. The cabin is completely off grid, however has electricity produced by a few different types of generators (get into that later); Plumbing that allows for running water and a bathroom facility drawn by an onsite well; Propane options such as stove top/oven, laundry dryer, monitor heat, etc.; A recycling system for all gray water to be treated and reused (toilet tank only so far *new system*)

Unfortunately the grow area at this time is not as technically advanced as the cabin, however there is a room that has been designed for my medicinal plant species to be grown in. (not only cannabis) I expect to be done with the remainder of the cabin and the grow room this fall. (Octoberish) I will be happy to share all of this with you. At this time, I will spend my efforts introducing you to my neck of the woods, my current strains of cannabis, and the equipment being used at this time.
(dont laugh :hump: Im just humping it for now)

For Now: 2 X 400watt HPS; Organic Soil (Promix, Home Made Compost, Fox Farms, Black Gold, Combination) Dual Window fan for air circ (free); Inline duct fan for heat exhaust and odor control (also free); White potter cloth for reflective walls; Plastic pallet for air circulation below the buckets and flooding, 24" X 24" SCROG made of Plywood and Chicken Fence. Stove top exhaust has been filtered and routed to force CO2 filled air (created by the burning of propane) down into the grow area. Water being used, is taken directly from a natural salmon spawning river where there is an abundance of natural fertilizers. This river is fed by glacial run off, another perfect source of beneficial nutrients. "My plants eat Million year old ice melt, what about yours? LOL

I am very interested in your off-grid living! I am in the process of buying land to one day be living off-grid. Do you use solar, wind or generators?

I will get into the Off Grid Life more in detail later as I expect it will be a point of talk.

What we are using to power our cabin is known as a Hybrid Power System.

The system is a combination of Wind Turbine, Hydroelectric Power System, and a solar power system. Due to the extremes in weather patterns and season, we have utilized this system in order to meet our needs for consistent energy.

We do use generators at times however, when generator energy is used, (wired to inverter) it is also charging a battery bank, and an off grid inverter converts the DC battery current to standard 120/240 volt AC power that supplies our cabin (normal wiring). This is also how the energy created by the rest of the system is stored.

Feminized

LST'd in preparation for SCROG.

Two days ago this plant was placed on 12-12 and showed sex today. This was in order to insure the sex regardless of being claimed as a feminized seed...

It’s female.

There is one clone that will be taken and converted into a mother plant. I will document the cloning and post photos for those who may not have seen this done.
( I am no pro, but seem to get it right)
