Hi Guys,
So here's the deal. My boy called me up one day and asked me if I wanted some plants. He gave me two hindu kush females roughly 1.5 months into vegetation. They had some yellowing going on with some of the leaves. I clipped some of the leaves off and now they look pretty healthy. They're even starting to bud now.
Now, let me state that this is my first project since I was sixteen or so and none of those were successful. I want to see these through to completion this time. It kinda cought me offgaurd and I didn't have time to properly set up or anything. I started off by putting the plants in the window. That was the best I could do at the time. I now have them in a 2x2 space allocated in my closet. Everybody recommends I get a 400 - 600 Watt lighting system. I dont have the funds for that right now so i've improvised with a budget lighting system of my own in the meantime.
Lighting
Basically all I have for lighting is 1 - 45w flourescant Daylight (6500K) bulb thats equivalent to 90W and emits roughly 1000 Lumens. I just added another 42W Soft White equivalent to 150W (2800K) bulb that emits 2700 Lumens. That gives me roughly 3700 Lumens. Everywhere I read it says I need like 10,000 Lumens to flower. Is that required for two small two month old plants in a 2x2 space? They've already started flowering on me so I gotta see em through anyway. I want to add one more light, a 42W Soft White like the other one. That should equal up to 5400 Lumens and almost 400 Watts. Can I complete this process with this setup? I understand I won't get the best results, and I understand its not equivalent to a real light setup, but will it flower these plants?
I'm new to the site and I really like it here so far. Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
