unkown strain under 400w

This is my first posting and kinda more or less my first grow. Right now I have a 400w MH/HPS in a small closet. I'm using Miracle Grow (I'll change that next time) potting soil and water with 5.9 ph. I'm in a small closet and am using a stationary fan to blow the heat out with the door cracked slightly open. Temp averages around 82 degrees. Have some old reflective mylar on the floor to help throw up light. Walls are painted white. I'm growing one plant seedling size from an unknown strain. Commercial weed bought off the street here in the US. Everything seems to be okay. I've ordered some AK48 from Nirvana and I'd like some opinion and ideas on my setup and the strain that I've ordered. Also, does anybody have an opinion on Nirvana's ability to deliver safely here in the States. If I go to jail over a few seeds I will literally shit my pants. I detest our archaic and unfair marijuana laws here. Thanks for all help, opinions and general replies.

you won't go to jail, you'll get a letter saying the seeds were seized and if you want you can come pick them up. I was in a 2 bedroom apartment, in the master bedroom closet. Behind the closet was the bathroom sink, so I put a hole through the wall, put a plastic pipe through it and inserted an inline fan. Works really good, keep the bathroom exhaust fan on 24/7 and you get to exhaust all the smell out to the top of the apartment.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that I get my seeds. The power of positive thinking. Anybody have any idea what strain I might be growing. A friend of mine suggested that most US weed comes up through Mexico but I know that a lot of it is grown within our own borders. Can't wait to get the AK48.

yeah most people get their seeds just fine from reputable seedbanks who know how to package their shit properly...also helps to pay a little extra for their "stealth" shipping...if a postal inspector calls you just play dumb...tell them you don't check your mail often/etc, so someone must have been using your address

You can get any strain you want. Seed or clone, in Cali. Most brick bud or mid grade "commercial" weed does come through the mexican border. Some of this bud though is not grown in mexico, but in south america.

I have ten going right now from mexican bag seed. All came up female. I read that mexican sativa genetics go back to a cross of african durban poison X pakistani hashplant and years of being grown and bread in mexico and south america.

I am a novice at growing, but keep a close eye on it forming seeds late late in flowering.

Well not seeds, look for male parts on the bud. Theres only two ways you'd get seeds in a bag. First and most happens, is that a plant turns into a hermie in the field and infects everyone else within range. This introduces hermie genes and any seeds from them will have a huge chance of turning hermie. The other is that they were breeding more seeds. This way you have an equal chance of it being male or female and a slight hermie chance. But the chances of you actually getting seeds from them doing this is slight. I'm sure at least in the case of mexican brick weed, they get their seeds in bulk and just plant em. But who knows if they actually take out the males or not

I grew up with Mex. Everything we smoked was nothing but. Interesting the history of mexican sativa. I'm going to research. My brother still lives in Texas and specializes in history.
