Does something that looks like a spider web typically accompany bud rot?
It doesn't seem to be PM. If I touch it, it sticks to my finger and seems to be very similar to a spider's web, though it is very tightly woven. Closest thing I can compare it to would be like a webworm nest consistency (they look like a spider's nest in trees).
The bud itself is slightly dark on the outside, but only really in one particular and small spot. I pulled it apart and the inside of the bud seems fine (I was always under the belief that bud rot manifests from inside out, so it seems like the reverse).
Is it possible that this is just a pest problem? I did just google webworms now and I found what I believe to be one in a cocoon (smushed it) and what also appeared like similar eggs underneath a leaf.
... Basically, will a white, web-like thing accompany bot or is this typically not the case? Even though I am vigilant, I want to know whether or not I should keep an even closer eye on things. Thanks.
