was the 1st time in a while i had posted outside of my usual journals and threads i remember now why i stay away.
clarifying butter is quick and easy. i do it every day.i carnt be arse with arguing really ghee is butter! u have enlightend my mind with your wisdom.
have you tried the 2 normal butter and ghee? theres a difference and who the fuck want to clarify themselve for hrs when u can just buy it all i was trying to do was help dont need nob-jockey post like that.
yes, you do want to skim that off. i use a ladle for that. just keep it as level as you can with the top of the liquid and gently push down until the ladle goes slightly under the liquid and the surface tension pulls the milk solids inside the ladle. ghee is just butter with no milk solids or water.hmm, i always thought you needed to skim the milksolids off the surface (the white stuff)
but thats easy too.
it's not about winning or losing, not trying to battle you. just trying to get the facts across. but you are essentially right, clarified butter will work better than non clarified butter because of it's higher fat content. i am just trying to show people that Ghee is not some secret special magical product, and that you can make it very easily from regular non-salted butter. I've been working as a line cook for the past ten years so I am just trying to give some factual info from what I know about butter and how it works.ok m8 u win ur the best please teach me bye........
ive never said ghee is not butter or its hard to make just alot easier to buy and it has a higher fat content meaning your butter/ghee/clarified butter will be stronger than if you use regular butter.
its the internet bro and ur 1st post didnt come across that way read it urself all im trying to do is help read the origanal post i aint making no grand claims just trying to help too thats what this site is spose to be about.
