Used bulbs....are they worth it?

Ok I here some swear by the hogh priced bulb and how they are brighter and work better. The. You have the other side of the coin who say they have the same results with the cheap bulbs and it's all an hype. So what about used high priced bulbs? I'm talking about eye hortilux bulbs for $10-20. Are they worth it. I have found many places to get used bulbs. I understand how over time they are not a powerful but if they as good as everyone says they are wouldn't a used one still give me good results? Or would I be better off buying a brand new cheap bulb for the same price?

The people selling them took them out for a reason. Think about that.

But would they still perform better then a cheap bulb.....there are growers who use new bulbs every grow, some don't. As of now I'm using a cheap bulb that came from Home Depot. Should a used "grow" bulb be any better.

Dont wast your time and money. Just go to ebay and get a new one their about 20.00

is it worth it to YOU to pay a premium for a product? Are YOU doing everything possible to maximize your yield? If you're a lazy gardener get the used bulbs and be happy with what you get. If you're on point, get the good bulbs. Better equipment doesn't necessarily mean better production if the gardener is deficient.

if I pay $80 for a new bulb and get a quarter pound off my plant after 2 months use, good on me. Nice use of my electricity

if i pay $10 for a used bulb and only get 2.5 ounces after 2 months use,not good on me. bad use of electricity.

Even a NEW cheap bulb vs a used hortilux would be a better choice.

get a light meter and do some research...oh btw..I bought an eye hortilux..turned it on to see what it looked like ( like any other light..bright as hell) and then closed up my flower room..which was empty..and forgot about it for 4 days..so i just wasted 96hrs on that bulb....
