Hi all, my first post
I've read loads and do have a couple grows under my belt though.
So my question which i can't seem to find the answer to anywhere is this:
Would it be a good idea to use a 600w and a 1000w hps in a flowering space?
I don't want to get into the debate about which is better - as far as i can figure there are advantages to both.
So my reasoning is as follows:
In a standard setup with say 2 600s one would move in ones plants after a period of vegging (or not) and generally fill the space below one light, the plans will either initially not fill the space completely or will grow to a point where they start touching and need more space/trimming. This seems a bit inefficient - could one not start under a 600 - fill the space as much as reasonably possible, allow the plants to grow for half the flowering time and then move them to the bigger space under the 1000 where they should be getting better light - also better light reaching the lower parts of the plants which in theory should now be taller?
I hope this makes sense?
I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of the community - I'm in the process of buying ballasts and lights and am facing the decision as to what to go with - either 2x600 or 1x600 and 1x1000.
