Using a battery?

Hey guys, I ordered one of those discrete weed grow-boxes. I realized that the lights will probably require a lot of electricity, and since I live in the basement suite of another family, I would get caught for sucking up that much electricity each month. Would it be possible to hook the box up to some sort of battery or something? What would I need to get and how much do you think it would cost me?

That's the box I ordered. I know it's a rip off =P but I'm not a handyman, I'm not very good with building things.

lol hey at least you know your shit isint going to be falling apart lol i have to be fixing my diy stuff sometimes but hey you get what you pay for and to me all that stuff looks like some top quality stuff............oh and about the whole battery thing i thought of that for a while i was thinking if i could some how get a car battery to work somehow so i could grow with out getting caught by my people but hey if you stick with a 150 or maybe even a 250w mh/hps light that probably wont cost to much from what i have read around, a friend of mine told me his 400w hps light only runs him an extra 20-35 dollars hope this helps


also im not exactly sure on the prices like i said its just from what i have heard but still i hope this might help a little and if im wrong someone please correct me

no way to run the light you need from batt , the increase on a small cabinet wont raise any questions,if it does tell them sorry that you have a electric room heater that you've been using

actually hes probly right just use that excuse shit i was laughing last time cuz i was triping on how much i was going to use on electricity and i check my electric heater and both of them say 1400w lol after seeing that i was just saying to my self i wish i had enough room to run a 1000w

Haha well thanks for the excuse guys =D I'll make sure to say that then. I was sure it would cost a lot more, or that it would take up noticeably more electricity than everything else.

yeah but u dont use it for 18 hrs every day

so You spent $1300 on that.. And your worried about 15 dollars a month. 1. You have 2 post and your growing in someone elses property.. Intsead of spendind 1300 on a grow room you cant use, why not find a place to stay with cash you cann call your own, than grow.. Why grow in some one elses shit and take the chance. Replace every light bulb in your appartment with 14 watt cfl light bulbs,turn the refredgerator down a notch,unplug all electronics that have a red light on them for standby mode,turn the computer to the off position when not online & put yourself on watch to eleminate any unneeded electricity from being used & i'd bet your overall electrice useage will take a sharp drop downward,even with running the 400 watt light.

If you have a pc & it stays on 24/7 it takes as much juice as the 400 watt hps light.

yeah a big screen tv will pull around 300 watts so if you go 400 or smaller there will only be about a $20 increase
