Ok....so im planning my first grow but im a lil scared to run up the electric bill so im thinking about using a silent generator inside my grow area. Anyone know any good generators or if this is even a good idea?

It's not a great idea . If its a small generator u have to worry about it running out of gas ,how to deal with the exhaust and such . Even the silent ones make noise just alot less than normal ones . You should plan out your grow room and do a load calculation then you can figure out how much it would cost and adjust to your budget before you buy any equipment .

Most reasonably priced generators are actually pretty loud, unreliable for long term use, and pricey to run. Just use your electricity. Seriously if you want a reliable and energy efficient generator (something that can run off natural gas, diesel, or petroleum) then your talking about spending tens of thousands of dollars or more. Those couple hundred to a few thousand dollar generators sold at home depo are only designed to run for a few hours each day (like in the 2-6 hour range). Anymore and you'll just be destroying it. The generators that can run 24/7 year in and year out reliability are super expensive like in the range of what a good mid size to luxury car would cost.
