using a tripod as a light stand (may be impossible to answer)

I found these light socket online which are made to connect to a light stands. Is there anyway to connect this to a tripod which has a 1/4 20" screw? (possibly an adapter?)

The reason why I ask is because I have a few tripods laying around and I thought it would be great if it could somehow turn them into CFL lamps for my plants.
