Using tops for clones

Everything I can find about this isn't very helpful. Anyone here have experience using the part you cut off while topping as a clone? In your experience is it worth it? Just curious because I'll be topping my plants and a friend was wanting some clones and figured why let it go to waste.

I use to take my FIM tops and struggle to clone them,

the delay for roots to appear would depend at what time in the plants veg life, she was snipped

this was always a hit and miss affair ...as taking roots from the lower laterals

always rooted far quicker, by about 3-7 days

the lowest/lower laterals have less (N) and more available hormones to quickly build rootlets

theres no waiting(soaking) to allow excess(N) to leach out

and besides kolas grow from those top flowers ya know...? lol

good luck

ps butter to cookies with FIMs is good

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm not really worried about how long it takes to root because he's in no rush for the clone, just wanted to make sure it would actually root. I'll give it a shot!
