And the cops tell her they are legal!

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/winnipeg-marijuana-dispensary-illegal-non-profit-group-says-1.3140851

A director with a non-profit group in Vancouver says she has filed a complaint with Winnipeg police after they told her marijuana dispensaries are legal.

Pamela McColl with Smart Approaches to Marijuana Canada said she tried to lodge a complaint about a new marijuana dispensary that just opened in Winnipeg.

Medical Marijuana Headquarters opened on Main Street July 1. With the right paper work, customers can purchase medical marijuana from the store.

McColl said when she learned the store had opened, she called Winnipeg police. But she said she was in disbelief during the phone conversation she had with Winnipeg police.

"I was astounded .... The person on the other end of the phone said 'They're legal,' and I said 'No, no, no they're not.' And they were arguing with me," said McColl. "I found that kind of upsetting, to have the Winnipeg Police [Service] kind of not take a complaint seriously and to misinform the public."

McColl said she has emailed Mayor Brian Bowman hoping he will step in before more marijuana shops open in Winnipeg.

Bowman's office said the mayor intends to review the matter with police. Police said they are looking into the complaint.

McColl said several mayors in British Columbia are currently trying to get rid of marijuana dispensaries there.

I listened to her spewing on a Vancouver radio station after they voted to regulate dispensaries. She sounds like a 15 year old kid...both in voice and maturity. Why in the hell does she care about a dispensary in Winnipeg? How does that impact her life in Vancouver. What in the fuck is wrong with people? "Smart Approaches to Marijuana Canada"...anyone know anything about these clowns - http://www.learnaboutsam.ca/ - the website is fairly useless in identifying who they are affiliated with. I want to make it my mission to discredit them at every opportunity.

here's her info-http://www.learnaboutsam.ca/ten-things-to-know.php
#3-3. Marijuana is harmful, especially to kids and adolescents. • Marijuana use is significantly linked with mental illness, especially schizophrenia and psychosis, but also depression and anxiety. • 1 in 6 kids who use marijuana become addicted. • Persistent and heavy marijuana use reduces IQ among those who started smoking before age 18. • Marijuana smoke contains 50-70 percent more carcinogenic hydrocarbons than tobacco smoke. • Marijuana use doubles the risk of car crashes.
this is someone who believes MMJ is a good solution?
i looked at this again and they make 10 points-all against really-but repeat them 5 times...why??

absolutely but people like this are still fear mongering...disgusting and ironic she calls her group "SMART approaches to Marijuana" when she clearly states how bad it is for you. if I was her andbelieved in what she said...my page would be a blank page. i don't think she believes in ANY way to approaching MMJ

she is the lone voice that keeps popping up in opposition to the progress being made...well her and that group of 14 year old kids from surrey

the crux of her argument is the addictive properties of cannabis, you know feeling good and relieving stress, anxiety and pain. Its terrible stuff :)

I'm loving all her butt-hurt comments in the comments section

Why would the police "lie" about it being legal? I doubt the police would give two damns about shutting the place down if it were illegal. Maybe she thinks the police are taking money under the table and lying to her to keep their payments coming in :D

She sounds like a frigging idiot.

Beware the loudmouth idiots in our midst, lest their noise be mistaken for credibility.

Well I went to "your medical cannabis headquarters" last night. My first experience buying from a storefront like that. The selection was small. They said they've been so overwhelmed that they were sold out of most strains. What they did have was nice. $10 a gram $50 a quarter oz. Shake, bubble hash, shatter. I didn't ask about edibles. Super friendly owner glen and the other staff were great as well. I'm shocked winnipeg police are letting them operate but I guess times really are a changing. There's even a few dispensarys in sask now. Seems as long as RCMP aren't in command dispensarys are being tolerated across Canada. Cool beans

Seriously makes one wonder how many people are buying from LPs...
None of the mmpr patients I know buy from them except one. And it was tilcrap. More or less he just wanted the packaging with his name on it. I had a good laugh at him then smoked some real medicine with him.

And Winnipeg's only medical dispensary is now closed! Unsure if it will reopen but the cops have shut her down today. No word on why exactly.
