VEG to FLOWER RATIO. Does the length of VEG affect the length of FLOWER?

Seed catalogues often list how long a certain strain needs to flower
(and, from my little experience, it seems they often exaggerate the speed of the flowering phase).

But do most strains have a FLOWERING season that remains the same no matter how long the VEG season lasted, beforehand?

If a seed spends 10 days germinating and establishing roots,
then two weeks under 18/6 MH VEG photoperiod
WILL IT REQUIRE THE SAME AMOUNT OF 12/12 FLOWER PHOTOPERIOD
AS a seed from the same batch that had a 4 week VEG photoperiod...?

Or even an 8 week VEG....?

You can veg as long and as short as you want, but most veg for a minimum for 1 month and bud for 2 months, that way you get a reasonable sized bud on a stalk that can carry the bud/cola to fruition,

as a side note: due to bad weather last year I vegged just for one month, and budded for 2, on average my yields were down a good 33%

flowering time does not change it will be the same for all same phenos within a strain so you can veg as long or short as you want, take mother plants for example up to a year in veg or never as in 12/12 from seed. but once the plant gets the signal to flower that time frame will stay the same for all plants that are the same no matter what you do. indicas for me seem to take 8-10 weeks, hybrids 9-12, and sativas maybe 10 but usually 12-14, all of those being in weeks of flowering.hope this helps

I wouldnt think the veg time would effect the flower like that, but im sure that a plant that was vegged for eight weeks and allowed to fully mature before flower will develop faster which would result in a faster harvest....makes sense??

if you flower plants before 4-5 weeks veg or flower them before they show pre-flowers which means they are not sexually mature

on average you can add about 10 days or so to the 12/12 time they will take 3 weeks to have little buds on them when flowered small
rather than 2 weeks when flowered larger or sexually mature as they continue to grow in the veg state during the 12/12 until they reach maturity
