Veg'd too long in ScrOG, Can I cut back my plants?

So life has be busy lately and I let my plants run about a week longer than I wanted to in Veg before I could get my darkness set up.. Can I just cut back all the extra growth over a few days time?

yes do it all at once and get it over with ..how much u think u gotta delete?

Be sure and plan for some recovery time before flipping to 12/12.

oh shoot... I already flipped to 12/12 last night.. Should I really do it all at once? I mean my screen is close to full already and in the spots where its not full the shoots are growing up a few inches already.

No Problem, I usually give 3 days for recovery but you should be fine.

Some are going to grow at different rates than others. I use zip ties to tie the branches down flat to the screen for an even canopy.

I thought you wanted to veg for a long time to fill the screen. Why would you want to cut it back?

If I zip tie everything where I want it, then cut the tops off of everything sticking up too high will it grow back? or just flower where nodes are left?


northernbandit from my understanding you usually want to veg till 65% or so of the screen is full, then it will fill in over the first few weeks of 12/12...

You will lose growth, to tie them down is more productive.

I dont really need growth.. I'm under a 400W and am quickly running out of light coverage. Where I'm at now is exactly where I wish I was in 2 weeks. However in 2 weeks my other 400 will be able to be moved in from my other grow so maybe I should just rotate my light and expand my screen now?

Perhaps that plan is a better solution.

Word.. its going to be one tight space though... I'm moving at the end of this grow so I have both my huge mothers in there too, along with the last 10 clones I took... All of that stuff is of course just too the sides for hopefully a couple of nice buds/tons of hash!!
