Vegetative growth and flowering

Whats the difference between vegetative period and the flowering period...

But, to answer you question : Veg. is the period of rapid leaf, stem, and root growth after the seedling stage, the plant mostly needs Nitrogen in this period. Vegetation can only be maintained if you have a Night schedule of less than 12 hours, typically 24 Light/0 Night 18 Light/ 6 Night indoors. And outdoors anywhere from 13-16 Light/ 11-8 Night. Flowering is the period in which hormones are changed to create flowers, fruits, or buds. Most of the plants energy is focused on reproduction at this point, though you will often observe that they grow 2-3 times their height. This period requires much Phosphorus, not so much Nitrogen. Flowering typically lasts between 60-80 days.
