so iv read many different things on the net but im still not quite sure of what to make of the way to clone...
i have 4 plants all on day 39 of veg that havnt shown sex yet and obviously i will be taking clones from the ones that are female, however i dont wana wait any longer so i wana put my 4 plants on 12/12 for a while so they can show sex, my question is.. once they show me whether they are male or female can i then revert them back into veg? and will the clones be able to grow properly back into veg?

please help me mateys

You can do that but it will shock your plants and take them several weeks to jump back into the Veg phase.

Why not just flip the lights and take clones off of the first females to show? I take clones in the first week of flowering with no problems. Just a thought.

Wont that still cause your clones to take a while to root? I mean if you flowered them long enough to determine sex, if you take the cuttings wont they still be in flowering mentality? This is a good idea, but how long till all clones root... Mine are usually ready in a week and a half. Yours take about that long? and do you see leaf pattern problems once they take root? I wanna try this, but wanna make sure I don't fuck anything up.

cuttings taken in early flower usually root faster than those in veg. remember, p = roots, and flower nutes have more of that. cuts from flowers will usually root in 5-10 days, though some can be testy when putting out new growth (some strains don't automatically jump back into veg, and stall for a week or two after rooting).

i usually take cuttings a few days before changing the lights to 12/12. label each cutting so you know what plant each clone came from.
once your plants start to flower, get rid of the males and the clones that came from the males. then the clones you have left, you can root them and veg them for awhile then flower them or make a mother from one of them. good luck.
