Has anyone ever heard of using vermiculite in compost teas? Over time Ive grown to really dislike adding vermiculite to my soil as it seems to really hold water for too long. But vermiculite is also made up of Silicate, Iron and Magnesium, good stuffs... I was brewing a Tea today and playing with the idea of throwing some vermiculite in there...

Or you could resort to just using a silica product. Just a thought.

Although vermiculite is indeed a source of silicon, it would need to be mixed in with your medium to do so. Adding some vermiculite to a tea will not have the same effect.

It's actually not soluble in water. It loves water. Why I avoid it like the plague.
