Vero18 and Vero29 Test Grow

I feel honored to be chosen as the test grower for two companies that build high quality LED grow lights in the United States. I have been using the opticgrowlights.com 200watt Vero29 3000K unit for the last 3 months with amazing rusults! A 4ft 4oz Emerald Mountain Blueberry HeadBand! After that amazing grow I was contacted by optic to test there Opticgrowlights Vero18 120watt 3500K unit. I gladly accepted.
In the next week I will receive a HeavenBright.com Model V6-186watt High Efficiency Fixture - The unit features 6 Vero18-30watt 3000K chips driven by meanwell . This unit is sure to be ultra high Efficiency with even canopy coverage.

that's cool. I'm in the market for a new light. We got to arguing last night on another thread about lights and it broke down to traditional led vs cob. I'm very confused and don't know who to beleive. I've googled vero and optic and heavenbright till I'm blue in the face and stil can't figure out the deal. Their websites are very confusing and seem geared to the professionbal who knows what he is doing. I'm just a retail grower and I need somebody to present me with a light and tell me, "This is how much it costs, and this is what it is designed to do." For starters, it is all about grow area, or footprint. I should be able to go to any light sellers website and type in my foot print and see what they have to offer without going through all the tech I don't understand.

maybe your journal will help those of us trying to figure out the deal.

Here are a couple pics of the current test run with optic200watt vero29 3K a emerald triangle CottonCandyCane day 20ish. I chose 3500K in the 120watt Vero18 test light because people are so torn between 3 and 4 k for flowering. MiddleGround is always good! Good for those strechy sativa dom hybrids.

Thanks for checkin out my vero grow! If you are new to LED or indoor growing for that matter? Many companies out there state this and that! Most is bs! I represent 2 of the best LED companies in the business. Both companies build there units stateside. Made in the U.S.A is always been important to me. COB based units are built to be serviced by the owner without having to return the unit for warranty service. Anywhere between 30-40 watts per square ft is what I rec. Again thanks for droppin in!

Those chassis are NICE!! I cant Wait to get My Model 6? I gotta couple Moxie snakevenom and LemonOg to put under it! The Oil Production from Moxie should be off the hook?

Hey Jimmy curious you mention made in USA you mean put together or all parts including COBS are made in USA ??? Or internals made in china shipped over box and part put together in USA ?? just curious or its all made including internals made in USA

Various parts are shipped in from areas of the world and assembled in the USA. all chassis/case are built in house. Quality Bridgelux Chips powered by Meanwell! Cant get better than that! Thanks for stopping by to check my grow out! should be good for helping people decide which unit to buy?

Those "chassis" are cheap Chinese generic cases.$2 a piece. I don't see any provision for air to flow thru them. Two fans, but no exhaust at all.

model 6 chassis is fabricated at heavenbright! optic cases have knockouts at each end for airflow! My 200 watt optic has run 31/2 months 12/12 no problems -actually cooler than I anticipated. the optic cases are from other areas of the world! Here is a pic- there is good airflow-I can feel it on my hand- The design is sound and reliable!

another nice pic. I hope the naysayers don't overtake this thread. They always think they can build a better light. But they don't know how to market it or sell it. All they know is they can build a light cheaper than what it is selling for. They can't put together a website. They have no idea how to deal with the IRS. They will never become successful because they are still bitching about the cut the credit card company takes.

Carry on. Nobody wants to hear about the cheap DIY lights they can build.

Since I have been a member here! I always wanted too help new growers adapt to LED lighting tech! And give true real time knowledge of the tech! And to steer away from mass produced ill equipped units! The truth is always in the puddin?right? We always wanna give back to the U.S workers that are building these ? right? The 2 companies I represent do that as good as anyone around!

no kidding, when comparing two lights it's amazing how the Made in America will get you to spend twice the money.

I don't think the government knows how much money there is in pot

and those of us who don't sell for a living will pay extra (sometimes twice as much) for our beloved light if it is Made in America

The 1st run with the 3000K is the stretch to open sites.Word on the street is The lenses used on the vero29 will drop the temp! around 2700 I think? That's why I went with 3500K on the 120 watt test unit! I believe that is the sweet spot for flower! But that's just my working knowledge opinion! Remember the optics are vero29 ran at 2.1 amps 90 watts.The heavenBright units are vero18 20 or 30 watt chips driven at 1 amp! This is two different approaches to suit all the different growing style consumers require. Low ceiling height I would rec heavenbrights for there more cob more coverage approach! I would rec optics to someone with the grow height of 5ft or better for the Optics power to do what it does best!produce those dense hard nugs that drip oil! Moral of the story heavenbright for the full coverage canopy of buds and the optics to grow the 4footers monsters.

The cost of living is higher in the United States of America in comparison to most other countries in the world, hence the higher pricing in comparison to goods made in a country where incomes are a fraction of what the average American brings in yearly.

I never understood the question about paying that much for a quality unit! These units pay for themselves after the 1st run! Why not buy quality made in America? feels good to support my brothers out there!

Just found out the 90mm artic fans powered by 5V meanwell drivers also ! another high quality part used by heavenbright!

It looks like the chassis is a drawer from a parts cabinet. Durham mfg sells these for anyone looking to DIY a similar light.
