Vertical height optimization questions

Hi,

i have 2 flowering spaces of 1mx1m and 2meters in height each (1m = 39 inches/3.28ft). So far I have grown normalsized plants under my Amare SE300 (315w) and in the other space I have a ViparSpectra600w reflector series with two 75w COBs on each site. I am doing fine but have the feeling I am not using my space most efficiently.

My Idea now is to use my spaces and half them in height so I have 4 boxes of 1mx1mx1m... and then fill these spaces with about 25 plants each which I flower straight after cloning/maybe with 1 week of veg under my CFLs.

I dont intend on doubling my yield per m² by doubling the effective grow space but maybe get 50% more. At the moment I get about 150-250g(5.2-8.8oz) from each space with my setup. I cant tell exactly because I always move them around between the two spaces/light setups depending on their individual stages of development.

At the moment I grow Royal Cheese (RQS), Eleven Roses (Delicious Seeds), Big Buddha Cheese & Chiesel (BBS), Banana (Zamnesia)

I have done a few tests with the eleven roses and they did very well, very uniform indica growth and no plant exceeded 50cms in height.
If I can keep this maximum height I have 50 more cms space for the lights above.

The Questions I have are:
what do you think of this idea in general, could it improve my yield per m²?
what lights should I go for in this setup? I have thought of the spiderfarmer 2000 for each box, what do you think? is this enough to light out these spaces good?
Should I go for a DIY solution with led strips?
what strain would you recommend? I think it makes sense to go indica but I will try my royal cheese too, because I love it. I would love to get 25 40-50cm high plants each packed with buds and little leaf matter ideally.
what size pots would you recommend for plants with no real vegetation? Normally I use 7Liter pots but I think it is too much for such small plants. Maybe 5 or even 4? The smaller the pot the more plants I could fit. What is the formula? :D
anything else I should consider, temperature issues maybe?

Thank you for anyone taking the time to read or even to answer to this.

Have a nice day & life

thanks for the replies guys. I appreciate.

Concerning the light I think it should be alright if i attach it to the ceiling of each box, LED strips or quantum boards, i think the HLG have a dimmer so i could just run them on not-full-power in case it gets too dangerous. I mean, other people do it in computer cases etc. so the distance to light should not be the limiting factor if I get the right one, I think.

I am not into bending over, sorry. I always feel that the lower shoots take too long to grow and than disappoint in yield..

I run a 1000w Hortilux HPS from seedling-flowering, and my plants always have strong sidebranching from the start, unless the strain just isn meant to have a strong branching structure. We grow Tree's inside, in 20g-30g containers of Promix BX, and both 1000w Hortilux HPS, and Gavita 1150W DE HID. We also veg with 645w Gavita 1700e-LED. Havent used it for flowering yet.

We get anywhere from 18-28oz per plant, untopped, vegged from seedling 60-70 days, an established clone will be faster. We also like plants that stretch like crazy in flowering, so we dont have to veg as long. If a plant wont get at least 1lb, untopped, and vegged for 60 days iunder 1000w HID, we wont use it. Plant limits.

Heres a middle of the plant bud, and is not thee biggest on on the plant by any stretch.

But is 22 inches long, and was 56 grams dried, and trimmed off the stem.
Strain was Mr Nice Super Silver Haze F2. We F2 2 packs, and then went through 250 females to get this one. I firmly believe in forcing sidebranching, if the strain is compatible. 2x-3x more yield. Bent over the light can blast every secondry branch from close to the same distance.

hey jimi. Very nice bud.
I for myself have made the decision to not grow big plants with big buds anymore because it hurt me too much when all the beautiful main colas got the rot. Maybe it is preventable but doesnt seem to be worth the risk to me.

Keep up your good work and good luck
