Hi,
i have 2 flowering spaces of 1mx1m and 2meters in height each (1m = 39 inches/3.28ft). So far I have grown normalsized plants under my Amare SE300 (315w) and in the other space I have a ViparSpectra600w reflector series with two 75w COBs on each site. I am doing fine but have the feeling I am not using my space most efficiently.
My Idea now is to use my spaces and half them in height so I have 4 boxes of 1mx1mx1m... and then fill these spaces with about 25 plants each which I flower straight after cloning/maybe with 1 week of veg under my CFLs.
I dont intend on doubling my yield per m² by doubling the effective grow space but maybe get 50% more. At the moment I get about 150-250g(5.2-8.8oz) from each space with my setup. I cant tell exactly because I always move them around between the two spaces/light setups depending on their individual stages of development.
At the moment I grow Royal Cheese (RQS), Eleven Roses (Delicious Seeds), Big Buddha Cheese & Chiesel (BBS), Banana (Zamnesia)
I have done a few tests with the eleven roses and they did very well, very uniform indica growth and no plant exceeded 50cms in height.
If I can keep this maximum height I have 50 more cms space for the lights above.
The Questions I have are:
what do you think of this idea in general, could it improve my yield per m²?
what lights should I go for in this setup? I have thought of the spiderfarmer 2000 for each box, what do you think? is this enough to light out these spaces good?
Should I go for a DIY solution with led strips?
what strain would you recommend? I think it makes sense to go indica but I will try my royal cheese too, because I love it. I would love to get 25 40-50cm high plants each packed with buds and little leaf matter ideally.
what size pots would you recommend for plants with no real vegetation? Normally I use 7Liter pots but I think it is too much for such small plants. Maybe 5 or even 4? The smaller the pot the more plants I could fit. What is the formula?
anything else I should consider, temperature issues maybe?
Thank you for anyone taking the time to read or even to answer to this.
Have a nice day & life
