Thank you veterans.
Grandpa was a higher ranking sergeant in charge of a 100+ men.
He was one of 2 to make it out alive. New guinea, Philippines, knocked up some lady in Australia...
Cousin made major. His last name is a take off on penis so his title is Major Penis.

Dad flew B-17 and B-24 in the Pacific, this was his. Once when I was a kid I plugged this into his hi-fi and they worked pretty good as headphonesView attachment 3828484
Those are priceless! Thank you for sharing that today I've cried, just a little.

My UPT instructor flew Liberators in Europe, he lost an airframe in France. It was quite a story. I have a picture of him on my desk, to this day, LOL, most fearless, and least politically correct man, I've ever known.

the only reason I'm alive & still married today is because my wife refused to leave me when I ran to the hills after discharge.....I truly was unfit to live with, she's a saint

That's the one JJ, I love that picture. She's a lovely saint too! My cousin a 3 year RN served in country army for a tour. My heart goes out to her today too! The Army put her through nursing school. She only entered an OR one time after that, to rescue my dumb ass when we were overwhelmed during a trauma. Those Army nurses are one helluva a special breed.
