Viparspectra closet grow op

Hello all,
This will be my closet grow thread. Long time creeper, first time poster/grower.

To start us off, a little info on my grow setup. I had a large mechanical room in my basement which was just a waste of space. I do construction for a living so a little remodel is nothing for me. Its a little tight but keeps my whole operation confined. I ended up with roughly a 4x5 grow closet and about a 4x5 working area.

In my working area I installed a utility sink. This way I would have easy access to a water supply, win. Lost a good portion of my work area in the process but well worth the sacrifice. I built me a custom cloning cabinet and work table with the remaining room I had available. Meaning I'm up north and our weather changes drastically daily I decided I would insulate the entire grow area. I used some 1/2 reflective foam and screwed her to the to some studs through the sheetrock. For the seams I used some HVAC tape means it reflective as well.

I use a 6" intake fan coming in below my conapy. I draw my air from the actual mechanical room hoping for some extra CO2 from the hot water heater and furnace running on natural gas in their. I have no meter so I don't know if this is working but in my head I would think I may get a little bump. I run a 6" carbon filter in the grow room for the exhaust. Exhausted into the separated work area.

For the lighting I am running two viparspectra ps1500 and two viparspectra ps2000. For a total wattage of 700 watts. I keep them fixed close to my exhaust filter to reduce the heat. I run a 9inch desk fan blowin on the ballists as well. I also run two larger oscillating fans in opposite corners blowing over the conapy and under the lights.

The back story is I smoke alot and like to keep what good seeds I can find. I've got a pretty good amount of random bag seeds I've been collecting though out the years. So with my closet up and going I started germinating a hand full of the random bag seeds to see what I could get to happen.

Low and behold some the little fellors actually started germinating. Having had some of the seeds for upwords of 10 years maybe, I wasnt expecting much to happen. I forget my numbers but I had around 10 germinate. Out of them I ended up with two females. One sativa, one indica. (But now I'm thinking i actually hermaphrodited the others after finding a slight light leak around my door and having a light on my humidifier at the time) With my two ladies we charged forward. After countless hours of research I decide to LST these two girls. Pulling down whatever I could and keeping the canopy even where my goals. I defoliated alot along the way as well. Ready to go, i threw them into flower. I decided i would let them flower a few weeks and do some monster cropping for my next crop. Being a newb I crossed my fingers and took my cuttings for the cloning to begin. Using only Great White as my cloning agent I had great success with only having one not root.

At this time I also popped a couple of new seeds I had recently discovered in my smokables. One Gdp, one Blue Dream. Having my new squad of hunnies going good in my little cloning cabinet. My two original survivors where ready for my first harvest.




Final yields for the two where almost identical at roughly 93 grams of flower a piece, no trim. Not bad i thought for my first run.

So with my cabinet filling up I needed to decide how I wanted to grow this run. After crunching some numbers and figuring out what to do I opted to try my hand at SOG. Having just the right number of monster clones along with the Gdp and BD. I was able to fit 15 12x12 pots in the closet. Stuffed wall to wall with a little room front to back.
Changing my tactics a little with my now stuffed room I decided to LST again, along with lollipoping, super cropping, and heavy defoliations.
Filling my conapy I make my switch to flower and let them do their thing. Shuffling, rotating and maintaining the Lstd canopy along the way.
Not knowing what kind of monster the Gdp and blue dreams start to become I shove them into the corners and do a trellis(fence) to support the pigs. Liking the new additions to the family I take my monster crop clones again for my next run. Fast forwardimg a little more and we are here at my current progress in the closet.
