ive looked into strains for the past 2 months trying to decide what to get this time around. there are so many strains out there that i'd just love to try. sadly, at this time money is an issue. when i mean money is an issue i mean i cant afford the $20+ seeds i desire...(ie. og kush, sour diesel, etc)
Heres my list ive put together over the past 6 months or so: (info on what type of strain i seek and my setup is down below...)
by breeder:
barney's farm - acapulco gold, blue cheese, lsd, pineapple chunk, vanilla kush
dinafem seeds - cheese
dna genetics - hashplant haze, sour cream
female seeds - black widow, c99 (if it was in stock), grapefruit/iced grapefruit, widowrella
g-13 labs - blue venom, blueberry gum, midnight kush
greenhouse - strawberry haze (sounds amazing), bubba kush, damn sour, jack herer, kings kush, nl5 haze mist, super lemon haze, white widow, white rhino
kannabia - original berry, smile
nirvana - ice, master kush, snow white
reserva privada - silver bubble
sagarmatha - strawberry d-lite
seedsman - original skunk #1, white widow
world of seeds - afghan kush, afghan kush x yumbolt, chronic haze
and thats just the short list. i have a complete one where $ isnt a factor its easily twice as long lmao.
due to my situation im stuck with these restrictions as to what seeds i can get.
NOTE: i MUST get feminized seeds...i dont have the space to grow twice as many plants as i need nor do i wish to spend all the extra $$$ on the nutes, soil, etc they must get through the veg stage only to find out they are useless (ie. males)
1) i need a strain ideal for indoors
2) i need a strain thats either a "name" (in terms of quality/potency...ie like a white widow/rhino, blueberry, etc. pretty much something with an established name) or a strain that is a hybrid of "names" (ie. white berry which im doing now is blueberry x white widow) but the name white berry itself wasnt too popular when i started it. i hear about it more now.
3) flowering time isnt an issue..be it 6 weeks or 16 weeks
4) yield IS an issue...looking for a lb per m2...i will be doing two m2
5) something with bag appeal, frosty, maybe an inviting scent, etc.
if i have to choose i'd rather have quality over quantity but if i can find both that would be ideal.
my setup will be as follows:
2 600w digital ballast hid lights (one will be mh, the other hps) i intend to swap plants under each light weekly for a complete light spectrum for the plants)
fox farm ocean forest soil and 3 part nute system (big bloom, grow big, tiger bloom) and grandmas molasses
i havent made up my mind yet but im considering just doing 3-4 plants per 600w hid system in 5 gallon buckets...originally i thought 6 plants under each light in 5 gallon buckets but im going to be using the following techniques and im very fond of them. and also since $$$ is an issue by doing only 6-8 plants total for 2 600w lights i will save money by buying only about half the seeds i would need.
techniques to be used during the grow:
super crop
major or minor lst (whichever is needed mattering on the strain)
topping (or possibly fim technique)
so im looking for something that will respond well with super cropping, lst, and topping.
the night temps will be pretty cool (so a strain that turns colors under low temps at night would be a bonus that would work in my favor.) no lower than maybe low 60's at worst.
a strain that responds well in day temps of 78-85 would be a bonus as well. humidity MAY be an issue at times...could his 60's to maybe 70 at worst...i will try to keep it in check...hard to do during the rainy/snowy season (winter).
thanks for reading my thread. any opinion is valued here.
