Alright guys. I'm not straying from coco but after this crop finishes I did want to try a single plant in a DWC bucket.

So for starters I have NO IDEA how to do this.
I understand I need an air pump and an air stone and some tubing... but I have NO IDEA HOW TO FEED. What to feed.... when....

I have tried looking up guides but idk man its much better asking the gromunity.

Honestly man, if someone could give me a link on HOW to grow in a DWC bucket.

And maybe some links on what I need.

I'll be doing this grow in a 27x27 MH tent. I have everything setup already. I'll be using the MH ts1000 for lighting.

I use big blooms and buds organic liquid nutrients.

So if anyone could tell me what all I need, when to feed & how to feed. That would be AWESOME.

I have found a few DWC bucket setups on Amazon. May buy one soon.

i make my dwc buckets myself, i buy 20L buckets with lid, buy a netpot place the netpot ontop of lid dead centre then draw a line around it then cut the line so you know the netpot fits nice and tight in there, drill a hole in the side of the bucket AT THE TOP ABOVE WATER LEVEL for the airline to fit through, 1 end in the res you will push the airline onto your airstone and the other end of the airline that will be pushed onto your air pump.
fill the bottom of the netpot with claypebbles (wash them really good with water 1st, bath or shower, so all the dirt and dust is off them)
then place your cutting/clone in there ontop of the pebbles, once youve done that add more pebbles so the plants nice and steady and not going to fall over etc.

fill the res with water/nutrient just under the net pot, the reason for this is when the air pump is putting bubbles into the water they rise and hit the surface of the res and pop, the little bits of water (mist) create and areoponic environment which will keep the pebbles wet and the roots will come down searching for the res (i hand feed from the top until i see roots coming out of the netpot and then stop hand feeding), usually takes about 1-2 days for the roots to come down (depending on strain etc) some take shorter time and others take longer.

once the roots are out and into the res its literally just a case of making sure your PH is in range, your EC isnt too high (less is more in hydro, easy to over feed them and cause nuteburn/toxicity/lockouts etc) and keeping your res temps around 18c-20c and obviously keeping your air pump on 24/7 do not let it go off anytime ever.

i change my res every 5-7 days, others do it every 2 weeks and others dont even bother changing it they just top it up (personal preference)
i always see explosive growth after a res change so i do it once a week.

ph can fluctuate in hydro so keep an eye on it daily!

keep an eye on your water levels and just top up when required until res change day, dont forget as they get bigger and start going into flower they will drink silly ammounts of water/nutes so please keep that in mind lol

its really easy once you know the basics and the results speak for themselves. if you get everything right you will be very very impressed.
make sure you have 600w light minimum more light = more buds and fatter buds

if you are on instagram give me a follow and see for yourself

good luck and enjoy!!!

thank you for this man. you've given me the courage to go ahead and run my buckets i got. just been mad scared and havent really had anyone juts basically tell me what to do to start. this guide was it thank you

The most annoying thing can be knowing the water level inside the bucket. Once you have a large bush it will drink 1/2 gallon a day and up. You can buy a rain barrel fitting at home depot($5.00) and drill correct size hole (inch and a half) thru the bucket close to the bottom. This takes a little skill to make it water tight but its not that challenging then add a 90 degree angle thread to barb nipple adaptor($2.00) and run a clear piece of hose up the outside of the bucket and you will never wonder what your water level is. If you run multiple buckets instead of using this as your water level you can do it to multiple buckets and connect them together along with a bucket that has no tree in it and use it for draining and filling all of the buckets. First I would just do one and get through your rookie mistakes and then when you have no doubts daisy chain five together along with the a service bucket. Foxfarms has a 2 part powder product that is very easy to work with and works VERY well. When the trees are still small its one teaspoon part one(veg) per bucket every other week. Once they are over a foot tall(? maybe two weeks) work up to one tablespoon a week with new water once a week. When you flip , you switch to part two(flower). Air stone line can be drilled through the top of the net pot so it is located directly under root system

Hey bro just seen ya post . heres a few pics of one of my vege & clone dwc set up's , ya can flower in it if ya like . Plants are AK47 & Borderliner Xtrm, in clay balls.
Its a 50 liter bin with 4 x 12cm flat air stones glued to the bottom . I have a 4 line air pump, 1 line to each stone and use a Auto Pot valve (recycled from an Auto Pot ) connected to a 250 liter fresh water drum , 4mm tube & fittings ( supply's a couple of tents). So basically I use a 12mm piece of plywood , use the jig saw to cut out 4 holes for the wicks ( pots ) & clone holes ( if ya want them , they are quite handy !!! ).The two plates are covering the other two spare wick holes . Also the rectangular hole for nutes , checking ph , ppm etc. The auto pot valve & water drum are optional but as im often away from home for work for a couple of weeks at a time , this self watering is a must for me.
I scrog 4 plants in a 1200mm X 800mm tent with a 800w LED, I start cuttings and seedlings on about 300ppm and gradually increase ppm to 1300-1500ppm in veg. Then change out water when flowering , again i try not to exceed 1500ppm max. I flush with fresh for a few days before harvest but dunno if it really matters to much !!! I mess around making all sorts of ideas but this one has proven to be the easiest format for my needs , hope it helps you with a few ideas , good luck mate from New Zealand.
