so i have some weird splotches now on a few of my plants. it seems like every f'n morning i wake up to a new f'n problem!!! FML!!! i will be uploading some pics here in a few. but they look like there is brown circle splotches on certain plants. someone told me it was from the Florescent lights. they are not hot enough to cause hot spots, or so i thought. they are not at the top of some of the plants, kinda like in the middle. its really pissing me off all the bad luck im having. ive had to return 2 items this week. running into brick walls with mites, the size of my hood, heat issues. im using coco, and thinking bout switching to soil. shits starting to get to me. i have 3 healthy plants, and they are slowly starting to go to piss. can someone explain to me or show me what hot spots look like? all answers are highly appreciated!!

LEAFS THAT ARE FUCKED! 014.jpgLEAFS THAT ARE FUCKED! 010.jpgLEAFS THAT ARE FUCKED! 006.jpgLEAFS THAT ARE FUCKED! 004.jpg

These are the leafs, i have many more like this, that are not directly on top. also, i have included a pic of the healthiest plant. the leafs are slightly rolling up. they look really healthy otherwise. what are the issues i am having? i just started locking in my ph. i was not watering everyday, or even every other day. i was told that i need to keep the soil moist. i had developed gnats so i backed off. not im going to water them about 32 ounces of R/O water or nutes every day. im still trying to figure out this coco medium. if i can not hone it in correctly soon, i may switch to some kind of soil...ba-humbug!

who told you to keep the soil moist? only water every 3 or 4 maybe even 5 days. i water with like 3/4 gallon of water(6.5ph) and then usually its ready for more water after 4 days. so in essence i water twice a week. but it looks like a ph problem to me. flush it and dont water it again till its dryed out pretty good

When u grow in soil or any kind of medium like that u want it to get dry from time to time,, Dont keep it moist all the time's!!! Thats Bullshit,, my tress grow good when i let them dry out,, If your going to be growing in soil mediums u might want to get a soil tester,, i got mine at lowes for under 10$ it works great,, it test moisture, light, PH!!! Here's a pic of mine...

i just picked up the ph pen about a week ago. i keep the PH between 5.8 and 6.1. that is where i have been told to keep it in, never above 6.1. and i try to keep it at about 5.9 or 6.0. and correct, its NOT soil.

coco is a hydro based soil medium. i know a grower that have there plants on drip emmitors and water twice a day fro 30 minutes. you CAN water every day. i personally was getting gnats so i stopped watering as much. then i was told i need to keep the soil moist. i was watering every other day, then i started having gnats. but i think that was from my g/f's house plants that she over waters and brings home from Wal-Mart. i heard that if you let your medium dry out, the roots will stretch and search for water, which makes the plants grow tall, or faster. i read on here somewhere.

i have one of those, those things are junk! you may like yours and thats fine. i just wont judge anything with as much of importance as the plants im growing with a $10 device. just me, im picky. i believe you pay for what you get. i used one of those with my first grow in 95

it is NOT a soil grow man, its more like a hydro grow. and hydro set ups do not let your plants dry out, not the roots anyways, they are flooded, misted every hr, sometimes more!! so i will have to disagree with you on that one. in certain circumstances you DO NOT want yoru roots to dry out. in soil, YES!! i will agree with you. and i have seen that post before thank you!

really? 5.5? that seems a little low for coco. i was told to treat coco as a hydro set up. and with hydro i was told you want around 6.0
