HydroGEN Water Cooled CO2 Generator

The HydroGEN is the world's first and only water cooled CO2 generator. Water cooling is capable of removing 86% of the heat produced by burning propane and has loads of other options and features not available in any other CO2 generator on the market, including a completely adjustable flame (can produce anywhere between 15 and 45 cubic feet of CO2 per hr), an adjustable water flow valve, no pilot light (flame is activated by water flow), a tipover cut off, an overheat shut down sensor, and the list goes on. The unit can easily be used in a closed-loop system with a small chiller and reservoir, or you can connect directly to your home water supply and drain to storage for reuse in your garden. The unit is compact in size and can be either hung or wall-mounted anywhere in your garden.

Interesting...so will it function without the water? I always thought that the heat generated by the propane flame is an advantage, keeping your plants warm in the winter

How much is that unit? I currently use excellofizz but at about $60 a month maybe a longterm cheaper way to go. Tried dry ice too expensive. tried sugar and brewer's yeast too tedious. tried propane ones but seemed to generate too much heat.

i seen this system at my hydro store, they had just gotten it a week ago. they were testing it out to make sure the flame was blue instead of red. sounds very promising tho!

No----guy in grow shop was talking about it----the store owner ordered one----I did some research and decided that some may find the unit interesting------retail on the unit is 399.00-------should find it at the stores for 300-325------online for 250 to 300.

Hi everyone,

I don't work for Hydro Innovations but I am a personal friend of the owner/inventor and would be glad to answer any questions. I actually have been using one of the original samples of the product for about 9 months and before that I was testing one of the original prototypes. We run all of our waste water through it before we dump it down the drain. RO waste, old nutrient water, rain water, and even the water we use to clean the trays with. That way we only use the electricity from pump to cool 9k btu's and use this the water twice before putting it down the drain. We have a 275 gallon storage tank that we keep all of the waste water in.This might seem like alot but our grow room is 500 sq ft.

Have you guys seen the video demo on youtube.com? They go over every detail of the product in and out. They also make the Reflector Heat shields and have a demo on there for them too.

I'll tell you what---the more information I research about this company---the more I like their products---I like a company that backs it's claims with data and testing. More to come on this unit and products offered by them...

i like them alot too. 400 bucks for a co2 generator? holy shit, forget that its water cooled, regular gens cost twice that and they arent as neat or advanced as this thing! i just bought a Green Air CD-18 for 150 bucks off ebay though...so im not complaining...

Ya --They look really well built---I looked at one a couple of months back at the hydro shop---really solid unit---The owner of the store had one on display and was going to order a bunch in--hope to pick one up soon---Their in high demand.

what size water resevior and chiller is recommended by the manufacture? how much heat does a regular co2 generater give off? using co2 and no airconditioner would be awsome.

You don't need that big of a chiller or res(don't have the exact numbers yet) and another very cool thing about the hydrogen is that you can mount the whole unit outside your flowering room if you have the space. Regular generators give off alot of heat. This unit is the way to go. It also has electronic ignition so you won't be burning juice and adding heat at idle. You can tie this unit into your controller and have a killer set-up. The unit will raise the co2 ppm's ultra fast so it can handle venting situations that keep most growers from using co2. Anyway I can wait to get one of these killer units.---I haven't been this excited about a product since I got my BLUELAB e.c. stick:lol:.

if you mount the unit outside your grow room is the co2 piped in ? this unit sounds better and better.

Yes you can mount it outside the grow room and duct the co2 inside. If going over a long distance use a 4" booster fan to help. You can plug it in to the co2 monitor so that it comes on and off with the HydroGEN. It's nice mounting it outside b/c part of the heat that is leftover from the water-cooling is given off by the housing itself. Mounting it outside can raise that 86% effeciency to over 90%.

They are about to offer a radiator/fan combo that can be mounted in the hot water line before returning to the reservoir. This works great paired with a chiller too, you can remove the bulk of the heat with very little electricity and you can use a smaller chiller to cool the water.

I saw the MiniGEN prototypes and they are very cool. Can be used with or without water-cooling b/c it has a removable heat exchanger.
