Help, I am new to this but have a very heathy
Arjan's strawberry haze, The trouble is I have cloned 9 plants and all died or dieing in a week to 10 days. using sterile razor and cloning gel. also a perlite-peat-variolite? grow medium in small cups. I think I may be over watering. I was misting 3-5 times a day and the 'dirt" seamed pretty wet, also the couple peat pots I was using seamed very wet. How much water should a clone receive? All comments would be appreciated.

yea overwatering could be the problem, or it could be alot of other factors. As clones first cut, they dont have roots, so the plant cant even absorb that much water. until roots grow, searching for water. Usualy the clones will turn yellow and droop until the roots start growing. When i clone i put them under 24 hours of light of flourecents, for about 3 weeks, that gives plenty of time to build up the root structures. hope that helps.:bigjoint:

Sounds like possibly too much water, you dont want soil soaking wet. The other thing is, when rooting, the plants still try to respirate. If you have too much leafy green on the cuttings, you'll have problems. Trim the leaves to a minimum, and if possible keep a dome over your cuttings...DONT WATER THEM - DONT MIST THEM. The dome takes care of all the moisture they'll need. After about 2 weeks, take dome off for 10 mins to see if the plants begin to wilt. If they DO, put the domes back on til next day. If they DON'T, leave domes off for another 10 mins, and so on. Once you can leave domes off without seeing wilt, leave them off and start watering lightly.
Let me know if you want a pic.
Good luck!
