Water PPM / Nutes question

I am most definitely buying a RO system asap. Until then, my tapwater is about 450ppm out of the tap. Should I avoid using that water altogether and just get a bunch of jugs until then? I always read just add the ppm of nutes you desire to your starting point. But I just dont want to overdo it.

Also with advanced nutrients, they advertise that a 1:1:1 ratio is idea for them but that you can use the GH style 3:2:1. Anyone experienced with AN that can tell me what they prefer? Thanks

I grow indoor... and personally I pride myself on being stealthy. I have had people in my home and they don't hear, see or smell anything. I do hydro so you need water. I have done the diy ro filter system and I enjoy it. No packing jugs of water to the crib and in my apt complex the outside ro system is less than 100 feet from my door at 25 cents a gallon. The Mr clean car wash $18 plus kichen add on spicket $3 for $21 total.

I would use tap water but in my area it is at 600ppm. I don't want to drink that water anymore. the ro gets it down to 20 ppm. Good luck!!!

Anyone out there able to give some insight on the Grow Micro Bloom AN question of using 1:1:1 or the 3:2:1 style? Also can anyone recommend a specific RO filter?

My tap water is pretty good so I haven't really looked into RO myself. Well I have, but not seriously 'cause I know I'll never get that one by the wife.

"You wanna spend how much on what?"

Anyway, the deal with the Advanced Nutes Grow/Micro/Bloom... I'd say just try both and see what you like. Personally I just do 1:1:1 and it works great. I also hear you can use the Lucas formula with it same as with GH and it works just as well or better (depending on who you ask).

I haven't tried 3:2:1 myself mainly because I don't want to mess with buying the bottles in those ratios. But I'm lazy.

Wow, I honestly gave up hope of getting a real answer. My kids are just starting to really get any nutes from the res now that their roots are growing down. I plan to stick with 1:1:1 the way through with perhaps a small amount of flowering help. I am really not all down for throwing 30 diff things in but if you have any additive suggestions I would be interested.

Thanks bud, def worthy of a lil +rep for whatever im worth lol.

I'm always glad to help out however I can.

As far as additives go I'd say you've got to try Big Bud. In my book it's a must-have. If you want to try more stuff beyond that, Bud Blood and Carboload are great, but I think your first time you might want to keep it simple and just go with the Big Bud.

Any other questions feel free to ask.

I did a GH cycle on my Euro Grower. Strawberry Cough. I used the 3:2:1 ratio and it worked out fine. I never checked my ph or my ppm and came out with an amazing crop. Luck. . .? i dunno but you cant go wrong with GH. i heard between 1000- 1200ppm is a good start-off point. Just watch for signs of burn and start upin the dosage.
