water question, soil grow, does aeration help?

Im aware roots need oxygen so if im doing a soil grow will it help or is it pointless to run a air stone from a fish tank in my water to give it aeration for a while before i water?? might be a stupid question and ive tried looking on line but found nothing about it?...
thanx

Hey, if ur using tap water just let it sit for at least two days in a bottle with a loose lid so the chlorine can evaporate. Don't worry about aerating, I just add hydrogen peroxide(29%), then nutes and then adjust pH if necessary and ur good. This is easiest for a non-organic grow. Roots stay healthy and aerated as required. Hope this helps...any more questions just message me. Peace

Wait...you're leaving the water out to evaporate chlorine but you're adding h202? This seems counterproductive.

To answer the question though, if you're keeping a reservoir then yes you need to aerate. If you're just mixing a batch of nutes and dispensing it all at once there's no need for it...it'll get plenty of o2 in the soil.
