Watering Question

I was told by an old timer to not water as much during flowering to induce stress which helps with the buds or something..I've been watering when my soil is light and have no intentions of stressing my plants unless told to do so on here. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be appreciated.

hey bro, thats a myth. holding back water will not make your weed better. it will slow growth if anything. Just follow the rule. Water when the top 2 inches of the soil are dry. you can also lift your plant up. when it feels really light hit it with the water.

hope this helped.

Thanks a lot man! And thanks for the quick reply. It sounded kinda fishy to me so I figured I'd ask the internet. Thanks again!

I have been watering pretty heavily and the plants were loving life but the tryke production was not what I was hoping for. Read about withholding water and cut my water in half and I have to say after two days the colas were looking much more frosty. A stressed plant opens itself up to a raft of potential problems though so I don't know that it's a myth but I think you should be cautious if that's what you decide to do. Slowing growth was not an issue for me as the growth had really stopped already and I was just going for more trykes. Seemed to work for me!

I have been using the "lifting pots method" for years and it has always served me well. I am growing hempy style and the medium is so light that when it needs nutes/water it feels like the bucket is empty.

Mine are growing like mad.
I think it depends on where you are as to how 'often' to water.
I do like the other guy's and lift the pot up around 3-4 days between watering, it's usually time.
but it's been pretty hot the last month or so.
Like yesterday, two needed watering but one didn't. I'll check it again tomorrow.
A stressed plant is a sick plant.
Keep it Green.
