Watering sog help

Let me pick your brains for a sec. I'm looking to do a sog and I'm nearly three part i transplant all clones from solo to 1 gallon. Gonna let em root for a couple wks then throw them into the flowering tent. I don't want to have a bunch of individual saucers. What's a good way around this growing in soil? Could I use a flood table? Or any diy projects to achieve watering my girls without having a bunch of saucer and without making a big ole water/soil/nutrient mess all over my 5x5 tent floor

I put a pan/tray/etc under the whole project, learned to water the same amount each time the dirt is dry and limit my run off to drops.

I would use short rectangular totes with square corners and put a few rows of pots in each one then flood them individually. Maybe 4 totes per 4x4 or 5x5. Then you could move and water like 12 pots at a time. Good luck with the kiddie pool though lol bongsmilie

If you can get a flood n drain tray to fit that would work well. You can use drippers and let the run off drain to a tub below. Then if you decide at a later date to go flood and drain with say coco or clay pellets you already have the tray. Rather versatile.

I used shallow totes. Find a size that will fit a nice amount of containers and fit in grow space also. When I did sog I could fit 3 totes in my space and fit several containers in each one. Have extra totes to rotate out and clean. Easy.

Sog watering suck tho.

Get some heavy plastic from a hardware store that sells it off a roll. It's usually 10ft wide so buy 6' of that then cut it so it's 6x6', line the bottom and tape the sides up to the walls inside to make a custom watering tray. You only need a couple inches for depth. Then flood the thing to water your plants and suck up the excess with a shop vac. Keep track of how much you need to water them good when they are getting dry and cut back 10% so they suck it all up and you won't need the shop vac.

I know that 16 - 2.5gal pots fit in a 4x4 space so you should be able to get 50 - 1gal pots in a 5x5 space if you want but unless flowering from clone I'd want some space between pots.
