Watering Super Soil

Hey guys, I have a trash can full of super soil cooking and was wondering about the watering aspect. With the nutrients I am using now, I always water until I get a bit of runoff so as not to build up to many salts in the soil and to oxygenate the soil. Is this the same with super soil, or do you just water until its full with no runoff? On another note, I am getting EXPLOSIVE results with the Heavy 16 semi organic line I'm using now, and having reservations about changing anything. Someone please convince me to try the super soil I have!

To be honest man, the super soil results speak for themselves, and I don't think anyone wants to beg you to try it. It has been my experience that if you are getting "explosive" results with something, to jus stick with whatever that is.

with that being said, I don't water Til run off, I use about 20 percent of the amount of water as there is in the container. So in other words, I use 1 gallon of water in a 5 gallon container, or two gallons of water in a 10 gallon container.

Thanks for the info. I have my pots in a tub right now within my tent to catch the runoff, so I could gain some room by not having to deal with that and spreading them out across the floor.I'm still pretty new at this, but I have some seriously fat buds right now at week 5, with trichomes on top of trichomes and reeking up the whole room like never before, and that's with all of my 3 different strains. If I could get the same results with super soil I won't hesitate to use it next round.

Running off water through the pot is just washing nutes in the soil out. You want as little runoff as possible. Why not just do a side by side grow one vs the other that's the only way you're going to know for sure.

Catch pans are called catch pans for a reason.... you slowly water with a cup (I like the red solo keg party cups) until the plant is saturated, as your doing this you'll see a little come out here and there (especially with smart pots) but at some point the pot is gonna let out a large shot of water, that means your about there.... leave the plant in said catch pan with the shot of water it let out and it will soak up whatever run off came out along with whatever nutrients are in it by the next day... By no means do I suggest leaving your plants sitting in 6 inches of water but with the right size catch pan you'll be fine... If your not over doing it, it should only be sitting in a cup or 2 of water.

Sampras is about right on with the amounts... I use about a gallon of water for my 7 gallon girls and a little less for my 5 G's...

For catch pans I use either sterilite or rubber maid containers... I have a bunch of different sizes to accommodate all the different size pots I use. I usually like to use the catch pan to water then the next day I'll pull the pans out...
