watering!??

hello iv just started my flower faze and have been told by a friend to give them just water a few times a week to stop a build up of the chemicals in the nutrients to stop it tasting of chemicals at the end is this correct or not?? i use canna ,im a first time grower lol , also since iv started i feed them pretty much every day well wen the first few inches of soil is dry that is , this seems to be fine but the same friend told me to let the soil dry out completely once in awhile he says this help them to grow and flower , is he correct or best not to listen to him??

Letting the soil dry out is a good idea. You don't want to keep the roots wet all the time. The roots need oxygen too. You can tell when you need to water by sticking your finger into the soil and see how wet it is; or you can wait until your plant starts to droop, then pick up the pot see how much it weighs, then water it and pick it up again and see how much it weighs, now you know when your plants are running low on water.

Your friend is wrong about the chemical taste in the plants. This is a highly debated subject among growers. Some people swear that flushing the plant 2 weeks before harvest makes the bud taste better and smoke smoother. Others believe it doesn't matter if you flush or not, it's all about drying and curing. The best idea is to try it out for yourself. If you have 2 plants or more, try flushing 1 plant 2 weeks before harvest and keep the other on your regular feeding and watering schedule and then dry and cure them the same way. Taste and smoke the proof for yourself.

ok thanks for the advice will leave it a little bit longer between feeding them now have a look at my pic see wot u think there in 16 liter pots and i have been feeding them arounds 700ml every day pretty much , to b honest i think i will flush all of my plants as i hate it wen i buy smoke and can tell by the way it burns and tastes that it hasn't been flushed properly ,

Are you using nutes every time water?

yer i have been, i used canna vega for veg and just started to use canna flower , iv have been using guano for a top soil mix every couple of weeks to .and have just been given some essential nitro which iv been told to start using as will supposedly help with a bigger yield at the end , which im not sure about using because some one told me not to use it unless my plants are lackin in nitrogen , but its says on the bottle to use it to prevent them lackin nitrogen ??

its not really a good idea to be feeding your plants every watering.
alternate between plain water and nutes
