Wattage to grow space size

I have 2 cabinets that are 24"w x 15"d x 64"h. The one is for veg and clone. The other is for flower. The shelves can be placed where ever, so the veg and clone cab are split into 3 sections. 2 for veg and 1 for clone. I'm using all cfls for this cab. My question is for the flower cab. If there are 2 sections which would be 24"w x 15"d x 32"h, would a 100w HPS for each section be enough for a good yield, or would 150w be needed? Any help would be great. Thank you!!! FYI I have done closet grows with 40w 4ft tubes, but now I'm trying to step up my setup.:bigjoint:

But do I have enough space to allow for a 150w? With the fact that I only have 30", minus pot size, so prob. only about 20" or so for total plant height. So I think I might have to go to SOG style due to space and setup. I have more height than depth, but I do have a lot of length, so more cabs would be okay. Thanks for your help.

Well with the 2' x 1' area I'm thinking I'm gonna have to go with a SOG style. Which means I'm thinking of going with a few mothers in my veg cab, so I can make several clones, and go right to flowering. With this in mind maybe six per flowering area, which would give me 12 total. 6 per 1' x 2' area, due to I only have the approx. 20" of height in each section of the flowering cab. Mainly because I don't think I'll have enough area to height to flower 2 in each spot at a time or even 1 in a 1' x 2' x 5' area if I went with the same cab but didn't section it. I might be wrong though, again because I've done closet grows with fluoros. and I'm now going to a cabinet grow, due to I'm moving and I'll have an attic and not enough closet space. So any help on choosing a flowering cab setup would be great. And thanks for the chart, it helps!

I'm also worried that if the bulb is too strong and too close I'm gonna burn them. I keep reading that about the HPS or MH and I know with the fluoros. I can get a way with that same of a space without fear of this, but I want a better yield, which means time to go to HPS. But looking at your chart I looks as though I don't have to worry. I should be able to keep them a few inches away and be okay, as well as get some serious light on them, and still get the bottom branches with plenty of light as well.

I would go for a 150watter at least. They wouldn't be all that more expensive and I can keep my 250watter about 6-7 inches from the plant. I'm not sure if a 100 watt would be enough for 6 plants. The more ventilation you have, the closer you'll be able to get it.

I would use the 150w hps. If you are more comfortable with fluoros, a 6x24w T5 fixture would light that space about as effectively. The bulbs are only slightly warmer than your cfls. hps is cheaper tho.

Thanks for the help, but I think I need to go with the HPS, cuz the yield should be better. Not that mine we're bad with the fluoros., but I think it'll improve it. Plus like I said I'm going from a closet that was 8' x 8' x 6' tall, and now I'm going to a new place and it's gotta be stealth. So I'm thinking if I gotta switch it up, I might as well step it up a little. So I guess I'm going with the 150w and several small girls in a good rotation of every month to keep it flowing nicely. So thanks for your help guys. Do any of you have a good link or info on how to get the components to build a 150w fixture. Something that I can get at a good light and elec. store. Any help would be awesome. Thanks again!!!!
