Web cam in your grow room?

I really want to be able to put a camera of some description into my grow room and conect it to my laptop in the lounge.
I'd like to be able to do some time lapse photgraphy and also monitor growth when using nutrients and such.
I think it would become invaluable information over time.

Has anyone done this? At the moment I'm thinking a web cam and two 5 meter USB cables. Any other ideas?

Also has anyone heard of any computer monitoring software for grow room temps, humidity etc.

Looks exactly like what I'm after, looks awesome. Im yet to find prices though, so could be costly.

yeah you can get wireless webcams save al lthe hassle on usb cables etc.
i reckon you would need a pretty good one with a high resoloution to
be able to do time lapse,and they are expensive,i often thought about putting my grow
live on the net,so i could check on them from anywhere,if you set it up right you can see your
thermometer/hygrometer's from it,i use my laptop and a digital camera to check the ripeness of my bud's
just take a few pic's using the macro function on the camera then open up the pic and zoom in to see the colour of the trichromes....sweet!!!!

My set up was very costly, a little more than 2000$ with only software and attachments. Incredible system though as I can completely control it from 200 miles away, using hydro is beneficial with the system becuase the nutrient mixing is ideal if youre not checking on it often.
