History and such, then to the point.
So, its the end of fall term 2009 and I have a friend that was growing some random bagseed in a large pot he had in his dorm. Wed both been talking about doing a grow back home and had some friends that had done it. It was down to finding a space as well as a light. Well. We found a space and a 150w hps.
After several location switches early on, the ladies had several homes and so on and so forth. About three weeks ago (week seven of flowering) we get back one night and the HPS is dead. We thought it had something to do with a power out that had happened. Regardless, it was dead. We didnt really know what to do, so we took some random florescent tube lights and hooked them up (total of 160 watts). So they have been going like that for the past three weeks. Been going on with molasses and an all purpose miracle grow.
Now we feel at a loss, granted we shouldve checked in much much earlier. But the past is for regrets. Now is now. And they are still going. I picked up a pocket microscope (60x to 100x) to check out the triches. They are cloudyish with no ambers yet.
Now here is where I get a bit worried. Its the end of week 10 for flowering. The buds look small and sparse. Ive been trying to see if there is anyone with any similar issues. (founds some people with poor lighting which affected bud growth but there were no photos to compare to). Yet, the growth of the plant in general has seems fine. The florescents do not really seem to have affected the plant too much. The buds are still growing (slowly). There seem to be new whiteish hairs popping up every so often with tons of reds. But we are going off of triches for harvest. Are we going to get much of a harvest off of these? (fyi, just for enjoyment ) . Also, any ideas on harvest time? Will the buds fill out more?
Also, lower down on the plant there are tons of buds that seem to just be starting out, white hairs and such. Would there need to be a gradual harvest?
Thanks!
