Weird leaves after major stress to a clone.

Purple Punch clone, growing outdoors in a 15gal outdoors in soil.
The clone had a major shock: I forgot to harden it, and planted it directly into the mid-summer sun in Los Angeles.
But the clone survived this trauma, and grew about a month later into this here pic. There are these strange giant fan leaves with only 3 leafs per fan, instead of 5 or more.

Any thoughts on those funky fans?
Did I cause it to herm?

THank you for the info. I googled and read her relentlessly before posting.

So this plant did make it!
I wet-trimmed these (see pic) 1 week ago and hung to dry in an indoor closet, climate controlled. (reminder: outdoor 15gal soil in Los Angeles, from a store-bought clone Purple Punch)

After 5 days hang-drying I thought they might be ready to move into a jar to burp for a week, and then cure... but in a jar the humidity quickly rose to 70%, despite having a 55% 'Boost' humidity pack... I figured the buds are still too moist to put in the jar, so back on the hanger they go. Note that these are for use as whole-flower in a Vaporizer like Volcano. I'm Not sure if that would mean the drying + curing process should be a different.

thanks for thoughts I what I should do at this point with my modest harvest!
Also, I hedged my bets and left some buds still on the plant, so I can try a different method if needed.

Speaking of that plant, I wonder if there is there any reason to keep it in the ground after harvest, to regrow here in frost-free Los Angeles...

I'm not sure tbh. I bought the plant from a dispersary in Los Angeles. It was a small plant about 8"tall, in a fibrous grow cube. I bought 2 plants actually this and a Mimosa. I nearly killed them both when I put them straight into my garden bed outdoors, no hardening at all. but 1 made it. After a month of languishing, I transplanted the survivor into a large 15gal pot of her own. She grew like a champ for 5-6 weeks, then I got somehow got the idea that I needed to prune. A lot. I pruned a lot and shocked the shit out of her. She kept flowering, but absolutely stopped growing. ( My prunes had been with the expectation of clearing space for continued growth...) So, while I got a harvest, it was with really weird leaves, and few hairs, and I also had to remove a lot of otherwise green healthy fan leaves along the way due to bugs.

Stressed to near death, recovered, transplanted, then pruned too hard while in early flowering I'm lucky there was any harvest.Also, the flowers had a lot of hairs early on, but those have vanished. I took ipohne shitty closeups along the way to try to determine when to harvest. This was an autoflower that I anticpated harvesting in October. I did this a week ago, but left some buds still on the plant in case I was too early. Thanks for any thoughts!

the leaves should come back true before too long. my clones were three leaves after planting {grown from plant in flower} and the grew about 10" and they were back to 5's and 7's

i was told on here the other day that clones with three leaves were stressed allready, i dont know how true this is,
but the act of being cloned could be considered stress and there catching up from that stress, i don't know.

your very lucky to not have it turn hermie on you, must be a strong strain, i dontt mean strong in thc, but strong genetics.

do you know know about planting the rockwool cube into a pot of multipurpose soil before you harden it off ? rockwool is what the clone came in

I don't know about that planting rockwool clone into soil technique. I just tossed it into a raised garden bed of lettuce. I cleared some space, turned the fresh potting soil over, and put her in. But that soil was so quickly dried in the hot socal sun that the clones both almost died form this. The soil soaks those rockwool cube dry if your not really careful... learned the hard way. Whats your technique?

I've seen growth like that twice before once with a clone that was rooted from a flowering plant then put back into 12/12
Another was from a mixture of (probably crap} seeds from sensi, they used to sell unknowns in 20 pks iirc.
It could be stress related as well its a difficult one.
