Weird Pistils and fasciation. Should I prune it or not?

I thought this was kind of cool. I have 2 Killer A5 Haze seedlings a week and a half into flower and both are showing fasciation on one stem each. One has a fasciated bud at the top and the other developed two buds at the top Side by side. Also the one with twins has thick blunt ended pistils like I’ve never seen before and a lot of them. If you look at the stem picture, hard to tell but the stem is not round but more a flattened oval. The leaves are alternating but there are two sometimes three on one side at the node. I like the one with twins but am a little concerned about bud rot as they get bigger especially with summer coming Not sure if I should grow out the the other fasciated bud though or Prune it off. Kind of a cool novelty but I read they don’t get very big, so a waste of energy that could be used elsewhere. Any thoughts?

Well Fascination head buds are mostly wide stem and aren't really smokable, but I'd let it grow, just for interest sake.cool plant.
Thanks yes they are beasts for sure. Thankfully I got through the stretch without to much drama. Not sure how much taller they will get now. I may have to LST or super crop. I don’t know what to make of the blunt pistils although they sure are pretty. Ace Said they have only seen the blunt pistils on their Panama. This is supposed to be Malawi x A5 Haze.

I think that’s a different thing. My understanding is that whirled phyllotaxy is when there are three leaves per node. Fasciation is when the apical meristem becomes linear rather than bullet shaped
Very well could be, I've never personally experienced either. The bud top is what made me think so.

Fasciation is not that easy to work out, whorlled phylotaxy gives a description not a reason unlike fasciation which suggests many causes, some unidetifiable or unknown.

The buds are whorlled if you look closely at the stem structure, smoking them comes with a lot more stems as you also see at the nodes you say are whorled, taste isnt good.

Growers here the word fasciation and it becomes the buzz word, either or is a good description in my opinion.

On the one with twins and blunt pistils, the stem below is as though two stems were fused together next to each other. It appears to have happened 5-6 nodes down from the top so maybe 3-4 weeks ago. I’ll have to check the other one to see if it changes at the same time. I’m trying to determine if it’s something I did.

Agreed. I ran into this on a Blue Dream I ran a few years ago. It was just one cola. Definitely didn't smoke like the other flowers.

I have a plant that did the twin flower/split stem thing as well. It has basically just grown out into two colas since it stretched out. I've only LST'd mine, so maybe that triggered it, or maybe just a genetic quirk? Seems ok, although I am little worried about airflow as I cannot space those colas out very much...so maybe sacrificing one might be a thought. I'm pressing on and hoping for the best, just doing a bit of defoliation around it.

Found a pic of it earlier in veg.20200419_140541.jpg

This is it now about 3 weeks into bloom.

Sorry not best pics, but if you look closely you can see the auxiliary bud at the node where the split happened also split into two.20200511_163914.jpg
