Weird stem looking thing coming out of the dirt

Today I saw two little green leaves coming out of the dirt.. But there is also this big stem looking thing that's comin out too..it's about 2 inches long..I'm very new at this so any answers? Or anything?

What kind of medium are you using? Also, how many lumens is that bulb putting out?

Typically you don't need light until you see an actual sprout, but I can tell you're going to need to move that light a LOT closer to the plant than you have it. Like, 2-3 inches away.

If you're just using dirt from outside, don't be too surprised when new shit starts to pop out. Invest in some potting soil, will go a long way.

how can i know how many lumens it gives out? ...and u see that stem in the second picture? i dug around it a little and its from the seed im pretty sure

Read up my friend. Did u plant anything in the dirt? Or did u just put dirt in a pot, fart on it and hoppe something grows?

If I were you man I would atleast go to the local store and spend 10 bucks for some pottting soil and couple cfls. Cuz that dirt looks like poop

If you look on side of light bulb or packaging it will say the lumens, watts, etc..

that stem is a stray weed, like nuggy here said- not the one u'd want to smoke. cough up some bills and get some reasonable medium. its not that expesive to build a grow room, check out the grow room forum and get some idias.
