DC is zone 7b-8, so.......May first planting. get your soil ready by mid-april. it can mellow a bit, before the final planting. treat it like a tomato. you could go even earlier, but May 1st assures no frost.

I just don't have enough sun, enough heat and enough daylight to grow outside.......lol

I have seen some nice stuff come from your neck of the woods though. The NLxBig Bud should get huge outside!! Hope you are in a friendly area....I hear a scary story now and again about the dry side of the mountains

i put my plants into the ground on the first day of summer last year, will hopefully get them in a little sooner this year. being that it was my first time outdoors last year, i was unaware how much warmth a greenhouse provides. i would have had them in the ground in mid may had i known.

If you lived in the rain shadow (Sequim, upper Kitsap Peninsula, or SanJuans) you might have a shot at outdoor on the west side of the cascades

Oh I see, Well looking forward to hearing what happens in your future. Washington state could always use another educated grower here, dont matter what side lols. After Living on the coast of washington my whole life then moving over to the eastern side 2 years ago. I like the eastern side better. The weather is more favorable I think. But thats just my opinion.

ohhhhh ......the nice Washington.....lol. never mind
Lols yeah man, nothing to crazy about here. I mean it deffinently has it's perks but Im sure that most places do.

I refer to us as the Other Washington, but agree we're nicer, too!
Lols Yeah I agree with you.

Hmm yeah, The negatives of that would be the cold season's start early when you get around their. But it is deffinently worth a shot for somebody. If thats what it takes to get a good Outdoor going!

It takes a bit to gather it all doesn't it? Sometimes I think about just dragging the BBQ out to the mailbox and setting up a lawn chair, wait it out...but that doesn't work so good in the winter...lol

Good luck to you and thanks for keeping us updated :-)
