Well Water Concern

I am new to this forum and seems that there is a lot of great experience here. I am using well water that seems to have a lot of sulfur in it. There does not seem to be any issues just yet. Is there reason to be concerned? Has anybody had problems with sulfur water and what were your solutions. I know high mineral content water can give you root lock. Thanks

How have you identified the Sulfur ? By smell and taste ?

Usually well water is hard alkaline and full of Cal. and Mag. If you dont use it in conjunction with hydroponic nutes that have added Cal. and Mag. it should not be a prob.

I can smell the sulfur but cannot really taste it. Not that we drink it right out of the tap. Our drinking water goes through a small kitchen purefier.

Thanks a bunch, I have been using Cal Mag nutes. I will let them go for a while. Is the Veg nutes OK?

Yea you can lay off on Cal Mag additives with a hardwater well source. If your veg nutes are for hydro they already have added Cal and Mag too.

The plants will use the sulfur in the water. They just dont need as much of it, its considered a trace elemental nute.

Yea I agree with both things you said theexpress

I use hardwater formulated nutes for my indoor grow and it works great with my well water.
