What about this soil??

So i was going to get fox farms soil, but the hydro store is out and will be for up to 2 weeks. So i was wondering what do you guys think about using MG Organic soil. I dont want to hear ANYONE say you cant use MG. I no thats BS. What i want to know is how decent this soil is compared to FF Happy Frog?
I was thinking about using this with a little perlite and bat guano. Here is the link. Let me know what you all think. thanks

Yea, that is the outdoor soil. Use the MG Organic Potting Soil/Mix. That is what I use and it works fine. Just mix some Perlite in it and go. It has some nutes in it, so just use water for a bit , then go to town. I do not directly reuse this soil, because I have had issues reusing it. I just add it to compost (roots and all) when finished.

It's tough to find growing mediums this time of year as home supply centers haven't stocked yet.

Use it if you must, but I would avoid adding that guano as I believe even the MG organic is pre-fertilized.

And the link doesn't show the back of the bag unfortunately...can't see labeling.

I've been seeing people have trouble with MG starting seeds.The MG seems to have a lot of bark and stems especially that outdoor stuff,which is hard on a seedling and root development.I drilled 3/8 in holes in a 18g tote and used it to screen out the lumber,works like a charm,it makes a nice smooth soil.No problems when germing in the soil.I've used both,the organic potting soil/organic garden soil.I use a lot because of my outdoor tomato garden,but I always ammend it with other organic soils,manure,Jobes tom food,composts,blah blah blah....
I've never used just straight MG.You will definatly have to use some nutrients before you start to flower.peace

Hydro store doesn't sell any other brands of soil\potting mix? Pro-Mix, Sunshine Advanced #4, Roots Organic?

IMO don't use it. Any dirt can grow a plant, the plants vigor an yield are not garenteed. I see people posting all day long that they got 1-14 grams from a mg grow an asking how to do better next time. My advise to you is learn from other people's mistakes. I'm sure you can pull big amounts of tasty weed from a mg grow, but when it's SO MUCH EASIER a other way, why force it?

The organic has a low N-P-K.......like .10-.05-.10......or close.Imo not good for cannabis straight from the bag..

Hey Navy fighter. I used straight miracle grow potting soil in my outdoor grows and even used to miracle grow liquid feed nutrients,(24 – 8 – 16). I had no problems by just following the instructions on the boxes and I was a very inexperienced grower when I was doing this. I generally recommend people don't use miracle grow because they tend overfeed them and burn them. You on the other hand have plenty of experience and I don't think you'll have a problem with this; especially with the mix you're planning on doing. You can see and tell what the plant wants and needs so I think you should have a good grow. Good luck

What if i added potting soil to the garden soil. Like 2 bags of organic to 1 bag of reg. potting soil. Idk. The hydro place has promix. But ive never used it.

I just talked with my friend who also grows and he said he uses an organic soil from Tractor Supply. Here lets his seedlings go for about 3 weeks or so in the soil before feeding them dyna grow nutrients i believe. Here is the link:

I just dont know if its worth anything because its so cheap..But ive seen his grows and he does very well. What do yall think? Should i try it???

To bad the company isn't more specific on what's in it. It looks pretty good though and if your friend ids getting good results,( which in my opinion is the true test), why not? Thank you Navyfighter.

So i didnt get the soil from Tractor Supply that was the organic for $3 a bag. It just felt like through the bag that there was a lot of wood in it. And i don like that. So i got this stuff instead: http://readisoil.com/sample-page/

Its called Readi-Soil. Its all natural with worm castings. Its N-P-K is only .58-.13-.38
I plan on using either Dyna Nutes or EarthJuice. Not sure yet. But what do you guys think. Does this seem like an ok soil? It looks great. Really light and retains moisture.....

Get a bale of peat moss. A 25 lb bag of worm castings. A bag of dolomite lime. And big bag of perlite. Then mix your own medium. 2 parts peat moss. 1 part each Ewc and perlite. 2 tablespoons dolomite per gallon of mix.

Ideally you'd want two potting soils. One for the seedling phase and one regular blend that's rich in organic matter. The brand really doesn't matter. I've tested so many soils, the difference is always really tiny. For seedlings you want no manure or meals, just coir or peat moss based mediums. These are both technically soilless mediums but for seeds that's what you want. Then for established plants you want a little bit of everything. Worm castings, kelp, blood and bone meals, wood, peat, and any other composted material. Lots of old timers I know grab bags from five or six different sources mix it together and call it a day.
