What Alternative Curing Containers?

Hi.

I know everyone uses glass jars for curing but are there any alternatives other then the brown paper bags.

Are there any cheaper alternatives as those masons jars are bloody expensive?

Iv been looking into using Plastic Air tight food containers but then i read that they transfer a taste to the bud. But that doesn't make sense to me as they are used for food.

Any help would be appreciated.

Apologies if this has been covered in any other thread as i haven't found one.

Thanks

Plastic is porous and exchanges air, at least most plastics. Glass actually seals your cannabis.

I've never used plastic containers for curing. But I keep my 1kg (metal) coffee cans for curing and it's never affected, they have a plastic resealable lid and have used them for years with no issues. For longer term storage, once they're cured I use large plastic containers that have screw on lids, they're from some pretzels I buy from time to time, they don't affect the taste either, I've pulled out bud as old as a year old and still fresh, with no taste/transfer issues.

I've used glass jars, plastic air tight food containers, stainless steel with air tight lids. Doesn't really matter, as long as it's food grade and air tight. Key is that I use Boveda 62 packs in all my jars/canisters. As long as they hold the correct humidity, you are set to go IMO.

I Agee, spring for the mason jars. They'll last forever, maybe replace the center lids once in awhile.
